Default Clutch Pedal Travel and Binding (pic)

I'm having clutch issues like everyone else. Aside from some slightly bent pressure plate fingers, I too am having issues finding the right adjustment and wondered if my clutch pedal is connected correctly. I don't seem to have much range between fully depressed and untouched and I cannot push the clutch to the floor.

When I press the clutch pedal, the bolt end in the highlighted circlre contacts the pedal push rod and the linkage binds. Is there something wrong here? For all I know, this car could have been a PG car at some point in time. Does the rubber stop look too thick>

Thanks,
brian

The two bolts are installed backwards - the special thin-head bolts that attach the bracket to the pedal arm are supposed to be installed with the head end outboard, to clear the pedal pushrod.

John,
I considered flipping the bolts but it doesn't look like there will be enough clearance - guess I should have tried it before posting. I have a few thousand miles on the car like this - wasn't an issue with my old clutch set up -- 3 finger old-style pressure plate assumbly. The LuK requires much more range to fully engage/disengage.

thanks
Brian

Someone had changed to 'regular' bolts on mine and the rod actually had been ground to clear the bolt head. A simple change to the correct thin headed or ground off bolt (or countersink that side) will correct your problem.

Have someone weld the bracket to clutch pedal arm and remove bolts.
NO more clearence problem. '67's have bracket welded on.

Also that pivot pin (just above the green circle in the photo) has been known to break off-------------in traffic--------very embarising.

Flipped the bolts and I now have about 2x travel. Man, do I feel dumb :o for not finding this earlier. I now have it adjusted so that the TO bearing is not constantly engaged BUT I still have bent PP finger issues. I guess I'l run it until something breaks or I start and finish my M20 rebuild.

Thanks

Never feel "dumb" for asking a question. Look how much time you saved and how smart you are going to feel when you can pass this
information along to some needy soul in the future. Your car won't be the only one that ever sees this problem :cheers"

Glad you got that fixed.

Thanks for posting that pic of under the dash - I just looked at the picture and thought "Wow, that's what it looks like right side up" Seems I only see stuff under there in the upside down mode!!!!

Brian, come on and confess: You must of been up side down too, but turned the pic over so we can see it "right side up"!

I am surprised any of us recognized it!
