First week thoughts of this C2 owner ....
First few things going thru my mind while driving less than a week in a very nice 65 vert with hi performance engine. I'm sure you can relate! Comments welcome!
1. Gotta concentrate on driving carefully around the other cars ...very distracting ....I can't believe I am DRIVING THIS CAR! ... M-U-S-T concentrate....
2. Hope I don't get pulled over for carrying a TEN FOOT WIDE SMILE in a 6 foot wide car!!!
3. Wow, this thing can SNAP YOUR HEAD OFF when you step on it! (Let's try that again..wheee.)
4. I haven't had any tickets for 4 years...how am I EVER going to keep that record up????
5. Man, THIS RADIO SUCKS.
6. This thing sounds like a MONSTER.
7. Gee, that was fun dusting that jerk tailgating me at 80 mph by hitting 110 in a heartbeat....
8. Wow, this thing turn heads everywhere I go!! ..........
9. Feeling VERY lucky....remembering that several salesmen told me (after I bought the car) that if they could have any car on the lot, they would take this one. This from a dealer that had well over 50 Vettes on the lot...
10. PINCH ME, I MUST BE DREAMING ...... WOO HOO!!

I'm envious, we won't have our C2 on the road until either late this year or early next year. Enjoy your '65 vert...

im pretty new to the c2 world myself, just under a year now. its an awesome car. one of the things i like best about it is its size, and the visability. i own a couple other classics and let me tell you some of those other bigger cars are serious boats! but these little midyears, particularly verts are great for driving. can see all around and no problem manuvering in tighter spaces

I hear ya on the ticket one, I don't know how I have had it for three years now and haven't gotten a ticket, just dumb luck so far. I love driving my vette, can't seem to get the stupid grin off of my face for at least a half hour after driving it. In other words I understand exactly what you are saying. Great cars that where made for driving, I could not stand to have a trailer queen, it would kill me to not drive it, in fact I just finished painting mine a month ago and it is already scratched in a few places, do I care? No way, too much fun to drive.
Enjoy

I'm not back on the road yet either, but it's even fun buying parts.
I should have taken notes of all the reactions I get when they ask me what car is this for and I coolly say "66 Vette".

I've had mine for 33 years and still get the same feeling. You could
buy a $80 new car and would not get "Hey nice car" comments from the
road side.

I picked it up at Atlanta Corvette. A week earlier, it was at another dealer for less money tho, and just missed buying it at a lower price. The car was in high demand, has had a lot of nice work done to it, apparently. Bought it 10 days ago, them had to go out of town for a week on business, and unable to pick it up till then. Talk about pure agony, owned it but wasn't home yet !
Making up for lost time now though.
Looks like you have a similar vehicle.
