Just to chime in, my Corvette rear emblem does not have the speed nuts. It stays put quite well. :chevy

When I was striping my car down to paint the back emblem was held down by some thin mollybolt type fasteners that just push through the holes and spread out about an 1/8th to snug the emblem up, it must be a body shop quick fix fastener.

paul67,

I agree with Prop. Dropping the valence panel is no big deal unless the bolts are rusted in the nut plates. There's 8 screws across the top and there is a nut and bolt (or there should be) on the underside on each end down by the mufflers. It attaches the lower edge to the rear fender. My car had no speed nuts when I looked under there while changing out the tail and backup lights and rear harness. I found it easiet to use one of those litle "palm type" ratchet drives ti put the nuts on.

Good luck

I replaced all those valence bolts last summer with anti-seize. Sounds like the approach I will take!
