Might Join The C5 Fraternity Tomorrow
Going to look at a Millenium Yellow/Black-Black 2000 convertible tomorrow. Pix look nice. It's got 37K miles. One owner. Automatic trans. Has lots of goodies, heads up, dual power seats, perf. rear axle, dual zone AC, active handling, cd, tilt/tele, and the fancy black "sports" leather interior.
If it's nice, I'm buying it. If not, I'll keep looking.
My wife is in Atlanta on business. She called tonight and I broke the news. She said "go for it". :) LOVE that woman!! Chuck

that would look good with the other ones, then you would only need a c4 then the collection would be complete :chevy

Chuck,
The C5 has to be the best bang for the buck even at retail prices, but with the devaluation caused by the introduction of the C6 it is the steal of the century. Excellent choice!

Can't have too many Corvettes! :D
I love driving my mid-year, but my C5 is the best engineered, most trouble-free Corvette I've ever had.
It's also the dryest.

Re: Might Join The C5 Fraternity Tomorrow (six-T-six)
Well, I did it. I'm now officially a C5 owner. Bought it this morning in New Jersey. Did all the paperwork. My wife and I will go back up on Saturday AM and get the car. LOVE that yellow. Car is extra nice. It's a one owner vehicle, traded in at the same dealership where it was sold. Has 37K miles.
Yellow/black/black. Has lots of "goodies", HUD, sports seats (6way), active handling, CD player, tilt and tele, body side mouldings, performance axle, traction control, twilight sentinel, fog lights, polished wheels, nearly new "run flats", dual zone AC, and probably a few more I can't remember at the present. Automatic, of course so my wife can drive it. I'll upload a pic so I can post it. Drives VERY nicely.
Do you think the yellow "clashes" with my graying "brown" hair? :) Chuck

Chuck,
Glad to hear that you liked the car, I am kind of thinking about getting one myself this year and have been watching the prices waiting to hear how they drop.
Congrats on the new car,
Tom M

congrats on the "new" car. Now you can worry about all the new car problems, like column lock, gas guage irregularities, and electrical gremlins.
But they are fun to drive.

Congrats !
I would love a report on your opinions of it, after you drive it back home. I have toured the factory many times and watched them being assembled. Did a "first start" on two of them. Always wanted one.. just can't afford one.
I've been to the mall and watched a C5 Vert, come cruising by slowly, with the top down. Several of the people around me watched it cruise by - just like with a midyear. They are great looking cars - IMHO.
