Hey, How Many Of You Are Still Driving Your Vettes C1...C2
Just sitting here having a nice Grand- Mon-Yah..(easyer to spell) after a hard days work, and thinking about the weather for this week end. Looks like a window for the C2 and C4 to do some warm up cruzen.
It's gonna be about 30* out and I'll get a chance to excersize the heater. My C2 feels real tight in the cold and I like the way the exchaust leaves the side pipes. You can see it in the side view looking glass.
The Supercharger on the 86 seems to whine louder in the cold weather and gives me a nice warm feeling. The winter cold air also adds a bit more power and eggs me on to leave a few black stripes. Yeah Man.... I love my Corvettes...What a great car....
So...do most of you guys have your Vette's up for the winter??? If you do...you should drop them off the jacks and take em out in the nice cold air and run em around.
It's a cool feelling.

VNV: Hope your weather stays decent!!! We CCCers in Colorado drive'em at least every weekend that the roads are clear, sometimes more often! For me, 55¡ becomes top-down weather around town. "Winterizing" isn't even in the vocab on the Front Range...

I drive mine to work every day that its not a nasty rainy day. The heater works great and I get some looks sometimes when I put the top down but most look past my crazyness and at the car. :flag

Well, since the 1963 Z06 is under "Destruction", I had to take the 2001 Z06 had for a run this evening! Just love dropping "BEAUTY" down into 4th and blowing by a whole string of cars! Had her to about 130 at one stretch on I95 near Laurel, Maryland - what a rush!
Will have her out on a 2-hour run tomorrow afternoon also

Good weather happens here frequently during the winter. Since I just got my '63 vert ready to drive again this summer, I am driving every sunny day I can. Leaks like the well known sieve, so rainy weather is out. Today, however, it is parked.

I like to run the '62 when the weather cooperates, but I believe the forecasters have said this is the MOST snow in the Pittsburgh area in December on record :mad ...with 4"-8" coming tomorrow

I'll admit I put mine away the first time RI DOT salts/sands the road. I think the guys driving the sanders must get paid by the poundage of sand/salt they put down. I drive my cars often during the Spring-Summer-Fall, and I look forward to winter as time to do major work on them. This year it's a rear suspension/driveline rebuild for the 67.
We received 26-inches of snow the 1st weekend in December, but most of it's gone now...only problem is the road has about a 1/2-inch-thick layer of road treatment on it :(

Every time the weather half way cooperates. Neither car misses getting driven more than a week or so. :auto:

Got mine out of service for a couple weeks. just pulled the rear-end and crossmember tonight (pita). Tomorrow the tranny. Nothing major, just a lot seals are leaking and I thought I would take care of it during the holidays while I have some time off. Suppose to be in the 50's this weekend

I dont winterize the 65 either. It get's driven just about every week or 2 but this weekend we had some snow and they have salted the heck out of all the roads. Only a inch of accumulation, but here we have little or no equipment to handle the white stuff, so they start salting and spraying before the stuff even starts falling, trying to stay ahead of it. Tomorrow, i will probably just start it and let it run for a while in the garage. After the next rain gets rid of all the road salt, she will be back out again. I did check the heater out last weekend in a Christmas parade, and it still works, so cold weather is not usually not a cruise-stopper :seeya

...yup, just had the 'vert out yesterday and put close to a hundred miles on it - now that i solved the problem of the wet plugs, they are cleaning up and, for the first time, i pulled 5K on the tach....finally!!!!
...i may be down OC very early tomorrow and drop off some stuff (like my brand new sweet thunder side exhaust), if so, i'll re-install the new air cleaner lid with the round k&n on top and drive it up and down the island, just to warm it up

I try to drive the 60 every chance I get, but since its my dads pride and joy I'm stuck looking at one broken C3 (mine) and one perfectly running C1 (his) and it just torments me that he doesnt drive it
