Rebuild kit for Holley 2818
I think I already know the answer to this question but the cheapskate it me is blocking my decision - maybe you can help me out.
Holley website suggests kit 37-1537 for the 2818 and lists it as a model 4150 carburetor. The online distributors sell this kit for $75 and list it for a model 4175 carburetor.
Generic 4150 rebuild kits sell for $35 and I'm pretty sure the 2818-1 is a 4150.
I wouldn't mind saving $40 but I know I should probably get the application specific kit. Anyone know what differs?
Holley was no help.
Thanks,
Brian

Re: Rebuild kit for Holley 2818 (Allcoupedup)
I think the difference in the kit is the added choke parts.
I used the generic kit and verified all the gaskets and parts with the old ones.
Of course this does not help if the old parts are incorrect.

Those prices seem kind of high. I ordered a holley kit from summit, part number HLY-37-1542 and it cost 19.95. It was just gaskets, needle valves, power valve, etc. No choke parts, just the choke cover gasket as I recall.
