Default Carburetor leak

Not a week into inheriting my Dads 67 I need some help.

The Holley carb is spewing gas out of oue front bowl at the "weep" valve on top as she warms up. I just finished a sniper 2 install on my 68 L78 Camaro, and am thinking of investing for the same setup on Dad's.

Any ideas? Easy fix maybe?

Give the top of the float adjustment screws a few wraps with a screwdriver handle. When a Holley is shut down hot and not driven again for some time the floats can stick to the varnish left behind from evaporating hot gasoline. When you start a car cold with this condition it will run lumpy and pig rich. Shut it down. Give the carb some sharp raps as above and that should cure it. I go through this same BS with my L78/Holley every spring.

If it continues, the front bowl removes easily with just the 4 corner screws. Clean it out with carb spray, work the float up and down as you do this. Check the float height setting and reassemble with Holley's reusable gasket.

One of those pesky little but get your attention holley quirks.. when my 65-327/365 with the Holley 2818 carb would sit for awhile like when coming out of winter going into spring on initial start up it would start spewing some fuel out the vent tube, wrap the bowl a couple of times with a screwdriver handle & all good, as long as it didn’t sit for extended time period all o.k.

I kepted a spare needle/seat, along with a points/condenser set in my glove box:-), upgraded to Rochester F.I. got rid of the needle/seat in glove but replaced it with a spare drive cable for the dist. To gear driven F.I. fuel pump🤒, never ends..

It could be a leaking needle and seat assembly. Not uncommon in last several years.

Dan's idea is spot one, however, if you have the original Holley List 3810 there will be no float adjustment screws on your fuel bowls. Give the fuel bowls a couple of good smacks with the plastic handle of a screw driver.
