Knock Off Wheel Alternatives

The original hubcaps to my mind.
After 50 years of ownership of my '63 roadster, I have finally gone back to original wheels and covers and wonder why I waited so long?
Bill.

You mean of course wheel covers. Hubcaps came on a Biscayne. I agree, in 65 the standard wheel covers are very cool. If the original poster wants the knock-off look without the knock-off (more properly called quick take-off) you can buy fixed knock-off-appearing wheels that mount on lugs.

Only two real choices here...
1. Classic Cragar SS chrome wheels
2. Halibrand "kidney bean" wheels with spinners

there are others but all are over used on ever my single classic car. The knock off wheels on mid years are just an iconic look. But this thread is like asking what color car everyone likes or what color hair is best

I expected to like these, but after installing them I can say that I truly love them (thanks, Mark, aka Factoid):
And here, for comparison's sake, is a pic I shot during the transition:
It became a different car.

Price out a set of 5 original 15x5-1/2 steel rims for a '63. Then add the cost of 4 pristine '63 hubcaps (after spending a decade or two looking for them) and you'll see what a bargain the repro knock offs are.

when dad was doing his 65 that is the math we came up up only having one original 65 wheel and 4 beet up wheel covers.
