Stock OEM day/night mirror
The lever on my 1966 day/night mirror came to me broken off. I've looked on line, but I see different styles of levers and don't know what is right. What is the correct lever on a February built 1966 coupe?

Just to add re rear view mirrors in 66 - two suppliers - Donnelly and Guide. Donnelly was dated - Guide was not. Also - day/night mirrors were a dealer item - not when delivered if you are concerned about NCRS judging.

Can the lever be repaired? I have one on my Chevelle where every time I hit a bump on these smooth Pa roads it flops

Not concerned about NCRS judging. I would just like to put the correct mirror back on my car or find the lever/dial and try and fix mine. I'm not sure how easily these mirrors come apart or go back together.

Stock OEM day/night mirror
If you are looking for the dealer installed 'Custom Features Accessories' Day/Night mirror, that would have a small black twist **** in 1966 (it changed in 1967).
Much more additional information and images are listed in this old thread: CLICK HERE
NOTE: Some people still feel the Day/Night mirror became STANDARD... if so, how do you account for the assembly line images WITHOUT the Day/Night mirror?
Some people feel the Day/Night mirror was a Corvette OPTION... all options had an RPO code, were listed on the order form, and were included in the Assembly Manual.
With no mention of the Day/Night mirror after the backups lights became standard (see previous link), there was no such mirror in stock at the assembly plant (Pilot/Pre-Production cars excluded).
The 1966 Chevrolet Production Trends include no such Corvette option/data... and the notion that the Day/Night mirror was installed at the Corvette Assembly Plant, has never been substantiated.
However, itz well known that many Chevrolet dealers automatically REPLACED the standard mirror with the Day/Night mirror, as a courtesy freebie... thus, being seen often during initial delivery.

Via your THREAD TITLE and text questions, you indicate you're looking for the 'stock' and 'correct' mirror for your 1966 Corvette... that mirror does NOT include the Day/Night mirror.

Here are some photos as they do tell a thousand words. The mirror is in excellent shape and all I really need it the ****/flipper. I've looked for a date on the glass, but find nothing, so maybe it's a rebuilt mirror at some time in it's life. I've found a mirror for a good chunk of change, but mine is so good I hate to change it out.
Car is a February 1966 build and has back lights. It's a full power car (AT, PS, PB, PW, AC, tinted windows, etc.) so if it was available, I'm sure it was ordered with day/night mirror.
Does anyone offer the **** only or is the same **** used on other Chevrolet models?

I found this link online that supposedly shows all the options and codes for a 1966 Corvette. I've going to save it for future reference. If you see anything needing correction let me know.

Information is so mixed online and on this forum, that it's been impossible for me to tell what I have. According to some, it's correct and now you say otherwise.....I don't know.
I would like to see what an "as built" day/night mirror looks like on a car.

There are plenty of images of the 1966 dealer installed Day/Night mirror (with the small black twist ****): HERE and HERE
They are also sold by some vendors... just a quick search yields these: HERE and HERE and HERE

Thanks 427SP, I pulled my head out of my **** and read my own post about the link to the options and codes. Never offered from the factory.
Since I don't see a date code on my mirror glass, I'll just get another one and save the old one for ?????
Your links are great and I appreciate it very much!!

Happy to assist... and note that the reproductions are close, but not perfect.
