New frames are 8000, more with shipping/acquisition costs, sales tax.
when you find a good used one you are kind of forced to buy what it is. They are only available once or twice a year and who knows how far across the country and you as a buyer are competing with others needing the same thing..
you have to weigh these considerations.
some places do offer repairs.. but you would be pushing a similiar total cost there to just buy new.
once you are down and apart this far, a couple grand just should not matter that much. depends of how much you are going to do yourself.
and... with a bad frame, your bird cage is probably pretty rusty too.

I purchased a frame years ago from Vette Products of Michigan. It was for my 65 Convertible. It fit perfectly!
