Unusual headlight bucket set up
This is the most unusual headlight bucket set up I have seen used on a C2. The pivot shafts are mounted solid to the housing rather than removable.and
there is no provisions for mounting the bulbs. A bulb platform from an unknown source is substituted.
The unit functioned correctly.
I looked to see if I could find out who manufactured this unit with no luck. I did find one for sale on Ebay but with no bulb platform.
I am replacing it with a correct unit.
Any ideas as to who produced these?

Fiberglass buckets were only used in 63 with 2 designs early and late with both being fiberglass. No other year used them, you’re car was probably damaged at one time and who ever fixed it had that laying around and they fit fine.

If you change it with one or two correct for your car, you also need to change the headlight bezel. The early 63 buckets had 2 screws each the mounted from the front. The later design had two screws each that mounted from the side. This is in addition to the two screws each on the bottom.

Melting Slicks
When I put in my Detroit Speed headlight setup I discovered I had fiberglass buckets in my 64. One of the "fingers" going to the motor was very bent and had to be straightened. Not easy when they are not removeable like you have.

Drifting
I built a set of buckets from scratch using junked '63 headlight buckets and NOS Door skins. Probably the most difficult job on my '63 thus far, primarily to get the skins shape to follow the front -end contours. The move to the single die cast aluminum bucket must have saved many man- hours in labor on the assembly line.
Jay Leno made an interesting comment on the C2's. He said after '63, Chevrolet learned "how" to build the Corvette. The parts count was reduced in the cars after 63.
