Remove seat, lay on back, then with skinny forearms and fingers...just unscrew the finger nut from the speedometer, pull the cable out, insert the new one, screw the finger nut back on, put seat back in place

Take the extra time to pull the cluster out a bit. Remove the steering column and seat. Chance to inspect, change bulbs, dust and vacuum, check wiring, check oil line etc. You'll be good to go for another 10 years. And a new speedo cable to boot.
