Default Power Antenna again

Has anyone found a replacement for the spiral cable that wraps around the motor drum that raises and lowers the mast?

Paul

Jack, good research. Thanks.

I see English using Google Chrome.

There's the Helix cable pdf in their Download area, but I can't download here. It says error processing AI image, incorrect file extension.

I can download to my device though.

Go to MENU
DOWNLOAD AREA
(schroll down to)
PUSH PULL INNER CABLES
HELIX DRIVE CABLES
Download data sheet

it's.....
Helix-cables.pdf

We need some measurements of the antenna cable and see if theirs match.

Here's a screenshot...

I measured a existing(broken) cable I have here. From the end where the brass ball attaches.

Here are the numbers.
Cable Core diameter - 0.080"
Helix diameter - 0.140"
Wire diameter - 0.040"
I measured apx 0.10" between coils. That's 10 threads per inch.

0.140" is 3.550mm

The Helix cables supplied by that Vendor in Italy are spec'd for several auto & marine applications.

The smallest they offer is a "flocked" Helix cable. 4.70 mm.

4.70mm is 0.185039", which appears may be too big. Not a perfect match size-wise.

More info later.

Rich

Is that overall diameter to the 'flocked' material?...

Does anyone know Greg well enough to ask him where he was getting both the cable and the mast assemblies. I would think that he would help since he is no longer doing them. Just a thought.

I know Greg but a buddy of mine is really good friends with him. Greg is unable to remember where he purchased the cable due to the fact that he had a medical issue a while back that negatively impacted his memory.

I read it as the actual overall coil diameter as the #2 notation points to the metal Helix wire.

Correction, Helix is note A, so it may be overall including the flocking.

Thanks Paul,

I've been very wrapped up with house stuff and I haven't been able to do any research calls.
