Hey guys,

I wonder if the soft top fabric/canvas made for a 61-62 frame will also fit a 59-60 frame ?

The reason why I ask is that 61-62 soft tops are much cheaper than the 59´s.
(61-62 = $230, 59-60 = $1000)

I know the rear bow is different, and some other brackets, but are they interchangeable with some smaller modifications or are they way off ?

I don't know the answer but I find it really odd that the '61-'62 tops cost so much less. You'd think that little whoop-dee-do (technical term) in the rear bow would make those tops more expensive.

Overall, the dimensions of the two tops are virtually the same. In fact, it's possible to put a '61-'62 top on a '58-'60 with only minor changes to the rear bow swinging tie down links. So maybe you could buy a '61-'62 rear bow and install the less expensive top. Dollars to doughnuts, no one will ever notice.

I dont like to overpay and I love a challenge.

Some years ago there was loads of used/new soft tops for a 59 on ebay. Now strangely the lower priced onec are for 61-62's only. The sellers dont know the differnce between them

The short answer is NO. The price of the 58-62 tops is the same. Save yourself a lot of trouble, and call Al Knoch interiors, and order the top of your choice. Best in the business.

Did not find Al Knoch soft tops at first but they are $445 which is reasonable.
