How Cool Is This Front Grille !!!
Not a fan of the relocated park lamps but this is a crazy interesting front grille design. Several factory shop order (FSO) cars were built for Corvette salesman and promoter, Bob Wingate. This is the 1st FSO Car Returned to GM.

I have no issues with the above comments, but I grew up during all the periods of customizing and radical modifications. In their day, they were cool and "far out".
PLUS, back then, we were not concerned with originality, numbers matching, and correct bolt head logo.
What I think is cool, is that some examples of those bygone days of customizing has survived.

Yeah. Leave the parking lights where they belong and that front end will grow on a person...I like it. Not gonna go out & put on on my '64, but I do like it.

Making it different doesn't make it better.

IMCO very typical of the "back in the day look". I like it.

Here's my 64 restomod front end. Previous owner did the front bumper delete. One thing that's not shown and not on the original picture is the mod to add the front license plate (required in my state). Loses a bit of the sleekness of the front. I might add some kind of roll-up license plate holder so that it's down when driving and looks like the picture when parked. Might add the chrome bumper-etts back in. They are pretty nice also. Haven't decided.

I like the car. When the widened quarters were put on my car I lost the turn signals. They kind of look like an after thought to me anyways. Wondering what I was going to do. Now I know

a custom from the past
This is my custom from the past. Exported when new to South Africa. Painted soon after with this show paint job.
Paint has held up well as this a current picture. One of my favorite cars have owned. It was in the Bloomington Gold Special collection.
