Default Heater Core Tube Gaskets

I have a question about placement of the heater core tube gaskets (1965 327 300 No AC). I have searched here and looked at the AIM, still not clear. Were they placed inside the enclosure or pushed up on the heater core pipes from the exterior not penetrating the interior of the heater box? Anybody got a pic of an original to show placement?

Thank you - Hunter

Sounds like you mean the gaskets used on 63s only?

See Item 1 from 63 AIM . The seals are not shown in the later AIMs.

Well that's my problem!! I assumed it was used on all C2's as the vendors list it for 63-67. When I had it NCRS Regional Judged I received a 1 point deduct with the comment "Foam should be inside"

I can't thank you enough - Hunter

Agree part 1 is a 63 only part.

You're welcome....... don't blame those judges.. They're very very good, but not perfect.

But the picture from the AIM clearly shows them on the outside. That’s how I installed mine.

On a 63 that is correct, outside. The OP mistakenly added them to a 65. The judge should have commented that they should not be there, instead the judge commented that they should be on the inside. Well, there is foam on the inside, but not that foam.

Ah, that explains it. I should have went full octane on the coffee this morning!
