Project corvette 1964 coupe
Hello all,I am Laurent, enthusiast since my young age by your beautiful old American cars (and yes I am in France ) I have had few corvettes along years, my first was a 1976 coupe I completely restored, a 1969 coupe, a 1963 convertible and today I'm on a 1964 coupe project (a little ambitious and will need advice!!!)
When I purchased the car, the rear fenders had been modified and rounded to accommodate wider wheels but finding the original line of this icon was one of the objectives.
Two years after my purchase, I was lucky enough to find a damaged 2007 Corvette C6 Z06 for an interesting price and suddenly restomod ideas came to my mind :
I find myself today with this project well advanced while retaining the original chassis but reinforced, a set of coilover suspension from Ridetech and the brakes from the Corvette Z06, (the LS7 will of course be there with a TREMEC 5 speeds TKO600 Keisler)
the fenders are in their original size and I'm trying to find out which rims and tires size will be fit for my project (it's not cheap and I don't want to buy the wrong parts!!!)
I'll leave you with some photos of the progress and look forward to your advice.
THANK YOU:

Bonjour Laurent,
Really nice coupe you have there. Heck, it looked cool in black with 6 tail lights.
All the work you've done looks impressive. Using the stock frame but adding the modern big Z06 calipers and no modifications to the wheel wells will require a lot of consideration regarding wheels and back spacing. What are you considering at this point (using for wheels)?
Also, will you be trying to use the donor Corvette Engine Control Module (ECM)?
Keep sending updates; it looks tres bien (I hope I have that one right).

Extraordinary work so far!! Amazing to find a shop in France that, actually, knows how to work on these old plastic cars. They look like they really know what they're doing...and, so do you with your dream and vision.
Thank you for all the pictures and, yes, please keep updating this thread as you progress

You started with a good looking "day one" moded coupe. Your work moving forward is fantastic. Looking forward to the finished project. Dennis

Very nice work. Looking forward to seeing your progress. I have the Ridetech suspension on my 67 but have wider rear quarter panels. When you get the body back on, just remember to measure your clearance at all four corners as it may sit a little more to one side than the other.

Very nice work! Did you have a local shop just wrap the dash pads or did you find find a kit for this?

I like your shop, plenty of room and equipment.
What is the story on the Yukon outer rear axles, what is the bearing setup and spline count on them? I assume you were truing them for runout issues.
Curious why you went with the 65 side fenders over the 64? preference I would guess.
