Default John DeGregory has passed away!

From the NCRS site
It is with an extremely heavy heart that I have to report that our beloved John DeGregory passed away this evening. John had been in the hospital after recently falling at his home. John was comfortable and passed away with family by his side. Please let's all keep him and his family in our thoughts and prayers. His family has indicated that his funeral will be private, but a memorial will be planned for the future.

John was a Charter member of our Pittsburgh Tri State Chapter and a 5-time past Chairman, as well as a Vice Chairman and Events Chairperson. He is considered an institution not only in our chapter but for the NCRS as a whole. John was known for his passion for Corvettes and was "THE" authority within the NCRS community for Rochester Fuel Injections. He was also a great, kind and caring person. Many of you have certainly known John much longer than I have so I'm sure you have many great stories and fond memories.

We in the PTSC have certainly been privileged to have had him as our own all this time. He will certainly be missed.
I have attached a photo of John I took a couple years ago at Corvettes at Carlisle in his trailer. A familiar site to many of you I'm sure.

Jimmy
Pittsburgh Tri State Chapter Chairman

Default John DeGregory Has Passed Away!

John DeGregory was a good husband and a loving father to Michelle and our son, John. He was a man of honor and faith. He was very generous and always enjoyed helping others. When he restored a fuel injection he was an artist, a true perfectionist - meticulous about every piece of the puzzle. He was well respected and trusted by corvette enthusiasts worldwide.
John knew his final day was near. I am thankful I had the pleasure of sharing some of our wonderful memories including our enjoyment of corvette events and parties throughout the years. He loved all his corvette friends. John told me he wished he could say goodbye to each and every one of you. Since he was unable to do so, I thought I would reach out and let all of you know how important you were to him. May John E. DeGregory rest in peace (3/02/1943 - 11/09/2023). Loved by many. He will be miss by all. Barbara

John was an icon in our hobby. He knew these cars and especially fuel injection extremely well. I never met him, but I chatted with him at length many times on the phone and bought FI parts from him. His parts were the good stuff, so they weren't cheap. But his knowledge was even better, and he handed that out for free.

What a great guy. Condolences to his family.

God bless you, John.

Spoke with John on the phone and in person many times, always had great conversations beyond cars and FI.

One of the best!

Miss him!

Rest in peace, John!

May the angels stand beside his family in their time of sorrow.

like our dear hero wwII veterans, we are all now passing on. Todd Styles has died and Buzz Murdock is in his 90s. I was 14 when I fell in love the 66 c2 at Reedman chevrolet when my Dad was negotiating for an impala wagon. NOW I am 71, and how much longer do I have to go? We lose a lot of great men (and women) every year, but life and time goes on. We honor their passing

If there has ever been anyone about whom it could be said, "He was a good man", it would have been John.

Couldn’t have said it any better… What a Man….
I met John (thru Jerry Bramlett’s retirement announcement) & Jerry referred John to me when I was looking to purchase a F.I. unit. Countless phone call conversations & then personally met John & his son at Carlisle to pass my F.I. core off to him for a full restore.

I was also fortunate to have John sell me a complete original air cleaner set-up he had stashed away for my 65..
John would always joke how he slept next to it, apparently cause of John’s leg’s/health at that time he slept on the first floor of his home & had the air cleaner wrap in a blanket stashed somewhere close by:-)..

He loved to talk about his Son & all the help his son gave him, his food dishes he loved to cook & his love for animals.. He was really involved with his Church and him & I would sometimes never talk cars, just how very fortunate we both were & what the Lord had done & was still doing in both our lives…

I hope to see you again my friend in heaven, I’m sure you will be the one with the hopped up Chariot…
Love you man, my sincere condolences to your Family…
Chalie M

Not only were John and I good friends, but I have done my fuel injection business with him for over 35yrs. A few times we got together at Bloomington and had plenty to talk about.
I will always miss him. RIP John.

bought many parts from John, but one cannot put a price on the knowledge that he so freely gave and shared and always a story. Many times they were the high point of the conversation. Truly a great man who will be sorely missed by the hobby but more by us that were fortunate enough to know him. Rest in peace John. My sincere condolences to his family.

Drive em safe

Very sorry to hear of John’s passing. I talked to him many times and always stopped to visit with him at Bloomington. I’m sure there’s a photo of John alongside the definition of “Gentleman” in Webster’s dictionary. As Jim stated, you were a “good man”. Thanks for the memories. Rest in peace sir.
