Default Help Identifying Hose Replacement

Hi All -
I need some assistance, please regarding the type & size of hoses to buy to replace all of the ones in the pictures below. One line dry rotted and needs to be replaced, hence the duct tape. Thanks! This is a 350 motor in a '65.

The coolest recovery hose is 3/8 gas hose. The larger heater hose is 3/4, and the smaller one is 3/8. Your upper and lower rad hoses can be ordered applying to a '65 SB engine. When you get the hoses, look at the lower one for a directional arrow pointing to the rad. When you take the old heater hoses off, slit the hose and peel it off. Don't go muscle man on these because you can break the hearer core nipple and you will have a bigger problem. Use a dab of silicone to slide the new ones on. If you are not concerned about correctness, use modern hose clamps. The upper rad hose is either GM3827368 or GM3827366, The lower, what I find is GM3832170. Double check these at a NAPA Or equal parts house. I suggest you take the current hoses off, and take them to the parts place. I hope this helps. At the very least you can call one of the quality Vette parts suppliers and order. Dennis

I believe the heater hoses are 3/4 and 5/8, not 3/8. The hose to the upper part of the expansion tank is 3/8ths, though.

Since you will drain some of the coolant from your system to do this job, you may want to consider either cleaning or replacing the "T" connector below the expansion tank, the expansion tank itself, the cap on the expansion tank (just replace it) and the fitting on the top center of the water pump that connects to the bypass hose.

Just things to do that will pay off later since you will have everything apart and accessible. Cheers, C.J.

Make sure the lower hose has a spring in it. Jerry

That upper radiator hose often is too short on the 340 HP engine. I had to buy 3 before I got one long enough.
