Has anyone painted their C2 brake calipers RED?
If so, can you paint the brake calipers on the corvette?
What paint can you use?
Any before and after pics??

Corvette Mike B, if the factory engineers thought that the calipers should be red, they would have offered them that way. Oh, just kidding but couldn't resist. You could easily paint them red on the car. you'd just have to ensure you tape everything off good. I would offer a picture of mine, but they are from a C6 and were offered rad from the factory.

I've painted calipers on modern cars many times. I've used various high-heat spray paints. Never had any issues with it.
I would expect a C2 caliper would be no different.

Not everyone will share this opinion, but it's worth mentioning.......I like restoring back to factory coatings, and void of any if none were every applied. A car that shows corrosion on some items and others none just looks wrong. A car that shows like it has limited use but aged appropriately just looks right. Kind of like your wife at age 60 with perfect breasts. Well, maybe not exactly like that.

You wouldn't be able to see painted calipers with my wheels, but I'd go with red on a black car if I could!

Did mine with Duplicate Color metalcast base coat then metalcast color. I think I needed 2 cans of color. Did mine on car. Not red but burgundy to match color of car.

I prefer caliper paint that you can apply with a brush, on the car. For years I've used the G2 brand:
I touch up any chips every 6 or 8 years.

Did you need to remove your brake calipers?
Did you use primer first?
What brand of spray paint did you use?

Doesn't spray paint need at least 70+ degrees for application?

I used the Dupli-Color ceramic caliper paint kit on my MR2 years ago in silver...they still look like new.
It comes with everything you need. Cleaner, paint, brush, tape...even a stir stick..
