Default Correct waterpump

I have followed a bunch of threads about the correct waterpump for a late 63 L76 and all of them seem to come to little agreement. One argument is that Corvette Judging Guide is wrong and a 3859326 is not the one that is used.
So is there any final consensus on which is the right one? So far the choices are 3859326, 3782609 or 3839175.

From what I’ve read and understand, it’s the 609.

Most of the arguments are because the JG says it is the 326. No idea on my side.

If you do some searching on this site there was some Gam drawings of the 326 pumps dated in 64. I think the name was Mike Hanson who owned the prints.

I did follow that thread from a couple of years ago. There was never a conclusion reached and, as far as I know, the judging guide still says the 326 is correct. You figure the "powers that be" in the NCRS would come up with a consensus or at least an explanation that two options could be correct.

609 for the solid lifter cars. Take that to the bank.

From the NCRS 6th edition…

63/64 base and L75 used water pump with casting 3782608.

63/64 L76 and L84. Early 63 L76 and L84 used undated water pump with casting 3782609. The remainder of 63 and all 64 used an undated water pump with casting 3859326.

I thought the 3839175 pump was used for all of 1964 and part of 65 as the engineering drawings for the 3859326 are dated 5-18-65
