Default Pretty cool story

The guy I bought my 66 from 9 years ago had a lot of Kodak slides that he took back in the 60s. When he was still living at his house every once in a while I would set up his projector and screen and we would look through a few reels.

There was a few pictures of two 65 corvettes but he couldn’t remember who owned them. I have never been able to figure out the two mystery cars.

On Saturday I stopped at subway for some lunch and a guy I know was there. As I was getting my drink he said his buddy sitting across from him had a corvette like mine years ago. I asked him about it and after he described it I asked him if it had Kragar style gray wheels. He looked surprised and said yes. I finally found the owner of the car in the picture!

As a bonus I asked him about the red car and it he gave me the name of the guy. I laughed because he is one of neighbors, I could literally throw a baseball to his yard from mine.

He was sitting on his porch this afternoon and I stopped to see him. I showed him a picture and he said he had owned one just like that. I told him that is his car. He was surprised and I brought a little joy to his day.

Looking at those slides always made me feel like I was looking through a window to the past. We all see pictures from years ago but the slides always look like they were just taken.

What's nice is the permanence of photographs and slides. Future memories will be lost on discarded hard drives.

That looks like a 63 or 64 Grand Prix sitting up in the driveway in that least picture of red car. I have a 64 and happened to notice 😊

My favorite pic is the one in the snow with the 65 all dirty. Without a doubt my 66 is sitting behind that garage door all safe and toasty from the elements.

That pic is taken at the house of the guy I bought my 66 from in 2014.
