Paper filter for 1x4 - no one has them!
Greetings,
7-8 years ago I purchased 4 of the paper filters that fit in the stock 1x4 air cleaner.
It's a NAPA 2100, or WIX 42100.
The last filter has been on my car for some time now and I've been trying to purchase more.
Lots of places have ZERO stock.. Summit, Fleetfilter, Rockauto, Zip, CorvetteAmerica.. It's been that way for a while.
I found a few "questionable" sellers online.. asking crazy prices ($45 + $40 shipping).
My local NAPA had ONE in stock, which I grabbed today...
Anyone else having trouble sourcing these filters?

If you are stuck and all else fails K & N will custom build a filter to your exact specifications.

I’ve been trying to find one for the last 9 months. Summit promised me a ship date of December when Wix ramps up to produce more (maybe), but if it Doesn’t happen then, I’m going to say to hell with it and make my own with some help from the folks on here.

The correct filter is only 1.5 inches high. Outer diameter is 13 3/4 inches. The inside diameter is 12 inches.

I will admit I haven't had a chance to validate them. I was searching for same element the other day and came across a website that had a list.

Fleetfilter lists the applications for this filter as: Chevrolet Corvette(61-62),Pontiac GTO (66-67)
I'm not a GTO guy.. not sure if that's correct.

Okay, I’m ready to resurrect this thread because I just got an email back from Wix that doesn’t sound like they’re ever going to make this filter again, and they say there are no substitutes for it.
Therefore, I’m ready to pursue the wire and foam setup as mentioned in post 2. Frankly, I’d rather have this setup anyway because I can clean and go.
Several questions, does anyone have any pics of this? What type of foam and where can I get it? I don’t want to get something that’s going to disintegrate and go down my carb!
