[C2] QuickJack Review

Thanks Dave. I have a 2012 Honda Accord that is my grocery getter. If I go down this road I will just use the pinch blocks for the Honda and not to raise the car any higher. Thanks Mark

I got my 7000TL a while back for $1350 (delivered) straight from QuickJack. They had some open-box specials that were marked down from $1650. Here's a link to their open-box/refurbished units.
Question for the group...I ended up using 2 of the blocks because it looked like the lift would come into contact the center beam on the frame of my '64. The beam that runs left/right under the cabin and is an inch or two lower than the main frame rails.. But it looks like most of you guys are only using 1 block (which I would prefer). Anyone else run into that?

I, certainly, am not asking for trouble but I use the two blocks provided every time to get the additional height/clearance. Never any stability issues and Quick Jack recommends using them stacked if necessary. Just my personal experience over ten years of ownership and use.

Although the car seems pretty solid with the car on both blocks stacked so far, I would still feel better not stacking them.

I have the 5000 series purchased at Costco. I use the 1 thick block only on my 65 convertible. It's a great system for us who do not have access to a lift.
If raised according to the instructions, it is perfectly safe.

This is how my car sits right now and it will be like this for a while, my only regret is that I hadn’t bought these sooner.<br /><img src="https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.corvetteforum.com-vbulletin/2000x1504/img_3326_f1f765428792dfd530d2e75e91d7400 75534a802.jpeg"></img><br /><img src="https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.corvetteforum.com-vbulletin/2000x1504/img_3325_7584fdefb2d080079f501d8dffbb00a ef671b947.jpeg"></img>

How much room is needed in front when you lift it full rise? Meaning, when the car on the ground and you lift, the car lifts to the front right? It doesn’t lift straight up.

I bought a QJ 7000 almost a year ago and ran it up on one of my cars to try it. Never used it for maintenance because of all the set up hassle. I would use it for a big job like a tranny removal but not for 95% of maintenance. Bought an aluminum 3 ton jack for that. Things like an oil change makes that the perfect tool with car stands. The QJ is gathering cob webs. Glad I got it cheap from a neighbor who also never used it. It is probably a good tool if you have to lift the whole car up but that's seldom for me.

getting killed
Im seventy. Been under, over and around all kinds of lifting devices in the now 100 year old family business repairing
autos and class 8 trucks since I was old enough to
walk. Was taught early on never trust your life to any lift
with hydraulics. Remember the ancient single post lifts
that telescoped into the floor? They killed more than one mechanic. QJs will obviously lift a car but if you go under it
without solid mechanical support you are a damn fool.
