Bloomington Gold
After a few years off, went back to Bloomington Gold for their 50th at the new venue at Illinois State University today.
Im going to say, after a re-set, it was a nice little show, reminiscent of the early days. i thought the ISU campus was excellent for a venue. Everything within very short walking distance and easy to find. Nice Certification setup in the Arena and awesome Z06 Special Collection at the Bone Center.
The swap, while not huge, was better than past recent years with a number of decent old parts there. Sales were not brisk. Car sales and GoldYear were a little weak.
Still, I was happy I went.

Just got back. The show was good for a limited model event. There weren't many SWC or BB Corvettes nor Z-28 Camaros on show if you didn't count the first 25 of each. The C1s, C3s, C4s, C5s were well represented. Going outside to see a couple of Z-06 C8s. Didn't see many Camaros out in the parking lots.
If the attendance this year is any indicator, I doubt the show will survive. There seemed to be less attendees than last year.
Vendors were bored to say the least. A lot of parts, but few buyers. 90 + degrees didn't help much as well as 3 or more small town celebrations with car shows within 30 miles of BN.
Great band: Biscuits & Gravy. Didn't display a lot of SEX, but there was no lack of talent. I even chased the wife around for 15 seconds or so.

More great pictures as usual Steve. Thanks to glinares and R66 also.
Thanks for sharing.
The black Z06 #81 has been at Carlisle. Love that vintage road race look.
Any info on the green Z06 race car?

The guy showing the car was saying that it had run at 3 famous tracks back in the day. The huge banner in the background shows this car, in white, in the foreground.
He told a story of once the car had a minor collision and lost the RH parking light. He said the owner literally picked up the pieces and kept them all these years. Part of the display shows this:

I seems to remember the promoters were having trouble with attendance at the BG events even when in Champaign and Indianapolis. So, they decided to include the Camaros in the show and even judge them also. Why not, they are all Chevrolet.

...I imagine the NCRS Regional in Altoona, PA may have taken some attendees away too. BG used to always be around June 23-28 time frame. Was early in June this year.
...I attended every year from '91 to maybe 2008ish? Did go to Indy in '15 & '18 and I thought that Indy was a great venue to have it at. Wonder how much longer BG will even be around?
