1966 Power Brakes
So I’m upgrading from standard brakes to power brakes using the correct 1966 master cylinder.
It requires you to remove the two studs from the firewall as the power booster has them welded to the unit and you put nuts on the inside of the car to secure.
My question / problem is how do you remove such studs? I’ve tried a dead blow hammer and even an air chisel with deep well socket around the stud to keep it located with no success
Do I need a bigger hammer? Or is there a secret?

No doubt the studs are rusted in place after 57 years. At a certain point, you risk beating a big crack or worse in your firewall trying to get the studs out by hammering. They're pressed into the pedal bracket, which can be removed from under the instrument panel. Remove the steering column from the car. Disconnect the clutch linkage rod from the clutch pedal bracket, then unbolt the pedal bracket from the Z-bar. Once you have that in hand you can get the studs soaked with WD40 and use a gear puller to remove them from the bracket.

Or do what I did and clamp a vice grip on them. Use the leverage to wiggle them back and forth, up and down and then tap them out with a hammer.

I got them out - what a PITA.
I abused a snap on 3/8 extension as I slide it to drive the studs out.
Now to clean up the firewall and touch up the paint…..

I guess I was lucky when I did the standard disk to power disk brake conversion on my 67--just whacked the studs with a hammer and they drove right out (it didn't take more than 1 or 2 thumps with the hammer, honestly), and the studs fell into the driver side footwell. Sounds like the extension you used may have damaged your firewall paint.
