Default 56 body reconstruction

I am restoring a 56 corvette and I am at the point where I have bought a new front end from Corvette Central along with all the tack strips. I am looking for advice from any on you guys who have done this or have a 56 that you would be able to answer some questions as I move forward. The old from clip is removed and was in terrible conditon and that is why I am going to replace the whole thing. Any help or advice that you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. 56er

Good luck with your C1 and welcome to the forum.

I am moving this over to the C1/C2 Corvettes section for some assistance.

mock up, windshield in place and seals against the chanel, assuming nose has dash attached. tires equal pressure, distance from front of tire to fender the same side to side, doors already fit properly, lower side valance in same plane as the rear section looking down the side of the car from the rear and front ..at a distance!, hood set on, to ensure surfaces are level, radiator support in place and properly shimmed...... do what you need to do to line up panels, sticks from the ceiling and walls, barbells, bricks and rocks...

to push against the places that need it. Anything goes when aligning the panel. check dash to door panel interior upper trim.

Do it again.

Pictures would be helpful.
Does the new top surround panel reach from the headlight to the gauges?
Is the original upper firewall panel, front door pillars, inner fenders and lower gauge panel good?
What condition is the hood in?

OC-1 Thank you for your response. I have the new front clip sitting on the car. The left and right-side engine compartment panels have been restored and are good, I have replaced the upper firewall with a new aftermarket one and there seems to be about a 1inch gap between the upper firewall and the top of the clip. I have the new tack strips for the upper rad and the left and right and I am not exactly certain how they are supposed to be installed. I know it sounds simple but before I put anything in place permanently I need to know for sure what fits where and that everything is lined up. if you have a couple of pictures as to what yours looks like under the hood that might help a lot. Thank you again for your advice.

Here is a video of a 57 that I did about 10 years ago. You'll have to stop the video to study the pictures. There are several shots of the front end being installed. (turn the music down, as it is pretty annoying. Hope this helps.
The pictures mixed up, and not in sequence.
