Mine were too high and I’m trying to get them low enough to be safe, but I still have some travel to work with. I wonder if the bucket stop adjustment needs to be moved to allow the bucket itself to roll up more? Were your previous lights adjusted ok? Are the new bulbs set really well in the trim ring and tightened evenly?

Thanks Chris @elwood13 for the reference to this link. It's always good to chat with you. These are in my Summit cart and I believe I found the splitter on a Pony website - need to double check the end points to be sure. Off to the garage.

Found that the adjusting screws’ threads each had about three threads that were just clogged with plating. Cleaned them up and was able to adjust the beams up enough.

Don't buy them yet! All over the news this morning that they are causing allot of accidents because they are too bright. They may be banned! States are passing laws restricting candlepower per bulb. CA has already passed a law restricting brightness. Google your state for these restrictions. Federal laws limits them to 3000 candle power. Individual states could be less. Check the law before you plunge!

They are probably talking about a lot of those cheap Amazon/eBay lights everyone buys. Even though the lens doesn’t say DOT, I’m sure Holley looked into that during design. This pic is from Holley’s website.

NBC was talking about how behind the U.S. is compared to the rest of the world with lighting standards, and particularly adaptive lighting, which helps with the glare problem. Basically everywhere but the U.S. allows adaptive headlights, and the automakers are trying to get the U.S. to adapt similar standards. Also, it talks about how headlight alignment needs to be more of a thing that people address on their own vehicles.

The Holley bulbs have a much different beam pattern than earlier LED bulbs I had. The pattern is much flatter on the top, similar to OEM bulbs.

Question to all you guys who have changed to LED headlights: Do the lights get hot? Do they heat up the headlight bucket?
Concerned if they generate a lot of heat that the lights could damage the paint on the headlight buckets.

I can’t imagine them being any hotter than the incandescent sealed beam originals, which you could fry an egg on…

With LED lights the back of the light gets hot and that heat is trapped inside the bucket. I am just wondering is it gets hot enough to damage the paint on the buckets.
On cars other than C2/C3 the heated air can escape and is not an issue.

Thanks, I realize the face of a incandescent sealed beam gets hot but it is exposed to the air.

At speed, there’s a lot of cool air entering that bucket, it’s not nearly sealed. Next week, when I get back home, I’ll throw a sensor in one bucket with a Holley and go for a drive.

Just wondering ..... did you ever check out how hot the headlight bucket gets from the LED's?

Thanks for starting this thread, Sonny!
I went down the same route of four Holley LEDs from Summit and home-made splitters based on the small harnesses that came with the lights (on a Trophy blue big block Coupe too... great minds think alike! ). Once you figure out what powers which terminal with a multimeter, making the splitters is really not that complicated.
