I believe this might be the car that was listed on the forum a month or so, then went to Bat, and sold for $111,000, sure looks the same, not a lot of Almond Beige, with red interiors out there!
44-Years-Owned 1962 Chevrolet Corvette 327/300 4-Speed for sale on BaT Auctions - sold for $111,000 on February 28, 2023 (Lot #99,636) | Bring a Trailer

And, the new owner stroked a check for $111,000 for that beautiful '62. Damn I'd be pissed.

Some people just do not get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good insurance WILL NOT fix everything. Some things are irreplaceable, even for a multi-million dollar award. You CANNOT replace a Z11, Z16, 64 GTO conv 4sp tri-power factory air, 57 Airbox.
It's like loosing a loved one caused by a negligent event and getting a huge dollar settlement--------------------the loved one is gone forever, never to return.
NO, GOOD INSURANCE CANNOT FIX EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can’t fix stupid.

Safety Car
Kind of reminds me of the 63 Daytona Blue coupe that was leaving my painter shortly after I brought mine in. I came back to check on my car and the 63 was back with damage on all four corners. The young driver didn’t realize the car came untied until the other side of Texas. It was just bouncing around in an enclosed trailer for who know how long.

Take a deep breath. With very few exceptions. These cars can be replaced and/or repaired and the owner can be made whole. Depends on his insurance and the carrier representing the transporter. I got news for you. This is NOTHING like losing a loved one. That's plain ignorant. This is a car....albeit a really nice, and somewhat valuable vehicle for it's age. And it sucks that it was damaged coming off that ramp by someone's negligence. But it's not a person. It's not a loved one. It's a car. People need to get their priorities straight. Jeez.
When SOME things are gone, they are gone forever. No amount of compensation can compensate for them. Whether its a valuable vehicle or a loved one------------------GONE is gone. Thus, money is NOT the object for replacement or compensation.

FIX IT?!!!???
How do you fix this?
Would anyone even think of buying it with this in its history.
Talk about devaluing a car?
Why did that ramp not have an automatic chock at the end of the ramp.
Even "I" would not be that stupid!

Wow, talk about incompetent. When I bought it, I had my 67 transported from Boston to Dallas top shelf on a covered 18 wheeler transport. Was there when it was unloaded at my house and honestly don't remember what all they did but it went off without a hitch. I'm pretty sure the lift gate was perfectly level and they had something long and wide enough that the car had no chance of rolling off the end.
The driver and his wife unloaded my car, and it was obvious they'd done it many, many times. When I needed to make the transportation arrangements, I picked up the phone and called Ruf Auto Center (now RAC Performance) in Addison Texas whom I used for service and maintenance on my Porsche and asked who they recommended--they said it was the only company they used to pick up or deliver Porsches and other exotics they bought or sold. The cost was on the high end of the spectrum of choices, but money well spent. I cannot remember the name of the company as that was almost 13 years ago.

I have watched hundreds of cars unloaded from similar transporters at Pebble Beach over the years. I don't remember any of them falling off. If this company did this twice, they should be identified so that everyone knows who to avoid at all cost.

They are Never the Same
Once something like this happens that car will NEVER be the same let alone drive the same. Can it be fixed? Sure, but never the same. That transport company will buy it back, fix it, then sell it for whatever they can to recover their losses.

Years ago, a "World Class," the driver of a well known transport company didn't know how to start a non-Corvette car I had bought. The driver jump-started the car in reverse by letting the clutch out as it was rolling down the ramp and cracked the pressure plate on the clutch while doing so.
It was a high-end all wheel drive sports car.
I would not be surprised if there are delivery drivers out there that are smoking pot while toggling on their phone between Fakebook and Tic Tock while attending to your car during transport - that's today's world.
