Why do you think you need it? The myth of needing to replace your valve seats in heads was dispelled long ago. Just add the gas of your choice without worry.

It was tetraethyl lead, suspended in kersone, so that i you spilled it on yourself, you weren't exposed to lead. As if kerosene was good for you...

I used to buy it in the way back too. Stopped making it in the 90s. Was in a silver can. I dunno...might have bumped up the octane a touch. I used it every four or five tanks and then when it wasn't available I stopped (of course) but I never missed it.

Another option is VP Racing Octanium (not the unleaded version).
The leaded version contains TEL, under 0.3% according to the data sheet, and one quart in 10 gallons is good for 8 extra numbers.

https://vpracingfuels.com/product/oc...ctanium/?c=207

Compared to the Octane extreme listed above, this seems to be a very similar dose rate for extra numbers gained. Yet the website claims "59.4g TEL per gallon", which is 0.1%, yet a data sheet for it found elsewhere state 1.2%. Maybe I screwed up my maths. But struggling to find up to date sheets from the oem. Atleast VP Racing is up to date and clear.

I use the unleaded VP Racing booster in my litle turbo daily after an over zealous tuner have me a touch too much timing advance on my map, causing pinging. While I wait for an exchanged ecu I'm running a lose dose that's safe for these modern sensors, but it only gives me an extra 3 points, although that is enough for smoother running. But that's my only experience with it, and not with the leaded version, although it is recommended an a diferent chap I know who is a tuner in his spare time and a pilot as his day job:

(skip to around 16 mins for octane booster info)

Years back I used to buy TEL by the case from Jack Podell. He is a fuel inj restoration specialist in Indiana . He adverised it in Vette Views and or Driveline. It was the real deal. Great for really raising octane for high compression engines. I am not sure he sells it anymore.
