Very Cool Avatar...Is his name really RatDog? I call my Vette the Ratwagon. When I first got it I was cleaning out the rear area. A large Rat jumped out from behind where the rear blower housing is and he beet feet out the passenger side door. The blower and tube assembly were missing so he moved in. Needless to say...It freaked me out. Don't have a picture of him like you do of Rat Dog... LMAO
A bird? A plane? No, it’s Rat Dog. Picture snapped at just the right moment:

For the shade tree/weekend mechanic, Harbor freight hand tools are not that bad. You just have to look at what you are buying.
Yes, they have the tool sets that snap off or break at anything above 30ft/lbs, but some of their Pittsburg line items are decent.
The feel, ratchet smoothness, and fit are above the Craftsman stuff I bought BEFORE Sears went belly up.
For the pros? maybe not the best choice, but I haven't had an issue with what I have bought and used.

Craftsman quality is no where near that of years ago. I guess that's why they have problems. The last socket (replacement) I got from them chipped the first time I used it.

Thanks! SinDee (mother’s name was SIN. Father’s name was DEmon) is a Rat Terrier, bred to wreak havoc on rats and mice. She would dispatch your car rat in short order. But sweet and gentle to others. Teddy Roosevelt turned Rat Terriers loose in the White House to eliminate a rat infestation.

Safety Car
When I got the car in 2018 I found I needed a set of bigger wrenches since the ones I always had only went to 5/8. I bought a craftsman set then. The quality was definitely not as good as the set I bought in 1993 I felt.
Here is a comparison.
1993 Left, 2018 Middle and a mid 2000’s Snap On Right
SnapOn Left, 2018 middle and 1993 Right
My 1993 3/8 ratchet gave out a couple a years ago and I took it to Lowes to swap. The girl said I had to bring the whole set to exchange. That wasn’t happening. Went again a week later and they told me to go grab a new one so I did. It broke in a couple months so I said screw it and splurged on these 80 tooth ones. Just wish I would have bought them years ago.

Snap On makes really nice stuff, harbor freight sells mediocre stuff at best and sometimes it’s straight junk.

craftsman stuff
I have sone craftsman tools from the 1940’s through the 1980’s. When Sears went under I bought on sale kits
etc. Quality was crap by then. Literraly wtenches that wont fit
the bolts and sloppy ratchets. Look for older ones with
the “V” code stamped or forged on them. This code and others represent manufacturers sears contracted with.
All USA stuff.

Burning Brakes
I was into all things 'cool cars' at quite young age due to my mom being a rare 'mom gear head'. When I was a young kid (still a 'kid' now.. just not young ha ha ), when I first started earning money in life, I made a commitment to building up my own tool set. I would drool over the next tool I wanted to own for about a month, and when had enough money, I'd pedal down to Sears to buy a Craftsman tool. On really really big purchase excursions, I might save up for and buy a torque wrench. I knew nothing about SnapOn at the time. But Craftsman at that time really was 'Quality Made in USA'. I still have in perfect working order most all the Craftsman tools I stated building up since 8 or 9 years of age. I seldom needed to use the Lifetime Warrantee, but to my surprise, when ever I did, no matter how old the tool, the sales associate at Sears did a swap with no questions asked and a smile too boot. No hassle.. no trying to say the tool was abused.. no being told to ship the tool off to some outsourced warrantee servicing organization.. shipping expense both ways on my dime... and hope I hear back from them. Just straight up honoring of their word of a 'Lifetime Warrantee'

I one needed a 90* Box End Wrench for a special project I was working on to get to a 9/16" nut. It was Sunday and didn't feel like going out an looking for something to use. So I grabbed one of my old form way back Craftsman 9/16" box end wrench's and stuck it in the vice and got the torch out and heated that sucker and bent it to where I needed it. Worked like a Charm. Call me Horrible Freight.....
