Cunningham LeMans cars together at the Amelia Island
Pretty cool to see all three cars fully restored to former glory and sitting together again!

Never realized that the headlight covers where patriotic red white and blue.
A significant part of the best of what Corvette racing history has to offer.

the last time you herd about the third and lost one is it was wrapped up in legal trouble and who really owned it. and Lance Miller had to sell his share of it along with Tim Mckay. So it looks like someone got their money and restored the car.

Melting Slicks
It was purchased at auction by the Cunningham family and restored by Kevin Mackay's Corvette Repair.

Before transponders and electronic scoring came along, timing and scoring was done by hand using stop watches, a pencil a clipboard and a timing sheet. If all your team cars were painted the same color, it could be hard to see a car's number as it went by at 150 mph, but it was easy to pick out different color hash marks, headlight covers, mirrors, etc. The red, white and blue on the Cunningham cars was a particularly nice touch though.
Before sponsors, teams in international events raced using national colors assigned to each country by the FIA and other sanctioning bodies. Italy was red, the US was white or blue and white, England was dark (British racing) green, France was blue, and so on. Painting a different color spot, flash or part on team cars, made it easier for the team and/or scorers to identify which car was which.

All NCRS pretty cars. I would like to see one
of the 3 vettes as it looked after the LeMans race.
That would show the true history and reality.

Nice to see they are, in fact, the original shade of white...(The latest edition "Corvette Restorer" from the NCRS features cars 1 & 3 in which they appear gray. The usual photographer who always seems obsessed with overemphasizing paint glare chose to allow such conditions and filters, that anyone who didn't know better would think they were indeed gray!)

As a 1960 owner, it was nice to see them all together...the history behind the #1 is interesting since the car was wrecked out not too far into the race and has quite an intersting history beyond that. There are enough threads of all the particulars on this one.
I was fortunate enought that I was able to attend the 2010 Corvettes at Carlisle and meet John Cooper Fitch who was there with the #3 car. It was quite the experience since we are both Lehigh University attendees! Attached is a photo of Mr. Fitch, Lance Miller and myself - I'm obviously the stiff in the middle in the Lehigh hat!
Fantastic stuff.

Lance did an incredible job in honoring his father and John Fitch by getting the car, John and himself back to LeMans for the 50th Anniversary of it's 1960 appearance. The story is documented in the movie, The Quest, Here is a link to a You Tube trailer,

you can see me and my cascade green ’56 in that movie, following Lance and Mr. Fitch on that parade lap around Le Mans. Was a pretty memorable weekend to say the least.
