Default Polishing Hardtop Plexiglass

When I bought my car in 2018, one of the former owners had installed a black headliner using some type of spray adhesive. He got over-spray of glue on the top 6-8 inches of the rear window and both quarter windows. I tried several products to see if I could carefully remove the glue, but nothing really worked.

So, I contacted one of the local headlight polishing companies (OKC Headlights) and had them come and look. The fellow was a real pro and arrived with several rolling suitcases of tools, polishes, various sizes of orbital polishers and more. He spent 2.5 hours and not only got the glue off, but polished the windows inside and out so they look like new. A well spent $250 IMHO, as he saved me big $$$ by not having to replace the windows and take the top apart. I just thought I would pass this along in case someone else has a similar problem with their hardtop plexiglass.

Bubba got some glue on the headliner as well and just smeared it around trying to remove it. I'm trying to decide if I should use "De-solve-it" or "Goo Gone" or something similar to try and get this smeared glue off the headliner material. No idea what glue was used.

Sorry for the wonky orientation of some of the photos as even when they look correct on my computer they rotate when I post them.

Just added the photos that I forgot. I seem to do that more of late.

Goo Gone is generally safe. I use it alot. Would be worth a try.

Thanks Pasco! I sorta figured the Goo Gone would be the safest place to start, so that will be the plan. I think by not posting photos on the original post I might have missed some other suggestions. I was hoping for some miracle cleaner I guess.

I would try a citrus based cleaner first - least damaging first. Good luck with it.

Thanks Olded. I'll try that. Certainly smell better!

Goo-gone took off 90% and then vinyl cleaner took care of the discoloration. Thanks for the suggestions guys.
