Default Empty Feeling to Overcome!

22 months! BUT who's counting?

That’s a long time to endure NOT having a Corvette to get under…..Don’t get me wrong, We all are Blessed to be able to own and maintain these iconic Old Corvettes.

A minor accident May, 2022 has left me with a giant, daunting Challenge not quite as big as my IBM disease. Major parts procurement as been that Challenge.

Orders and Vendor Cancellations and reorders have put me on the sidelines. Press Moulded parts are at a premium at this date in time due to limited Manufacturers and recent acquisitions.

Driving to Erie on Tuesday to meet with a Gentleman who wants to meet with me and discuss my situation. If we can agree, I will ship my 67 BB to Harbor Vettes for a long awaited start to proper repairs.

I have some very good Friends who are Forum Members who I feel close to…. And a long time Friend who will go with me to Erie. If we get this done, I will be frequenting a local VFW Tuesday night for some celebratory drinks!!!!

I am excited about the prospects!!! I will update details next week!

If you’re watching tonight, enjoy the Super Bowl! Steeler fans have no skin in the game, BUT I will be betting on KC to win by 6……

All the best, Members!!

Doug,

I'm . . . finally . . . feeling good @ your new plan to have Harbor Vettes work on your car. I hope everything goes well on Tuesday . . . it's about time you got a well deserved break! Have one for me @ the VFW my friend! Hope to see you, and your car, in July!!!

I think we all need to combine funds and buy 2 or 3 mediocre C2's and pass 'em around for whom-ever's garage looks sad and lonely for a few months like Doug's does now!

No dog in the fight tonight for me either, but I'm looking fwd to the opportunity to eat like a teenager for a change....

Sorry for your situation. Hope your meeting in Erie is fruitful. Good luck. No skin in the gam for me tonight either, however Pittsburgh fans and Cleveland fans are as bad as they come. Just sayin.

Drive em safe

Doug I guess that I am way behind. I thought that you had a green 65 Coupe. I guess not. So what happened to your 67 in May. I never saw anything on the Forum. In any event I hope that everything works out well for you getting your car fixed as soon as possible.

Fans will be fans and at times the worst of what humanity has to offer. New York or Boston is any better?
I hope your meeting goes better than you hoped for and your '67 gets quickly on the road to recovery.

Jay,

Sold the 65 Glen Green Coupe to a great guy in Fults, IL. Sold my modified C6Z to a guy in Philly. Took the funds and purchased the 67. Did a lot of correct rear F41 suspension changes, tuning, shifter adjustment, Cargo Stop repair, raised the floor panel, accessary fixes (Vent cables, bulbs) during the Winter 2021. First drive to sort a few things out in May of 2022. Poor guy in front of me stopped suddenly with something going on in front of him, I could not stop, (right foot from gas to brake) and drifted into his SUV. Front Bumpers, lights, clip damage... Actually, I now see why a lot of Corvettes run without front bumpers...........Basically worthless......

MY FAULT! The accident could have been avoided if my right leg was not so weak (quads). Inclusion Body Myositis IBM......Let's just call it the "Peter Frampton" desease...

Bottom line: I'm committed to a high end repair, and sale sometime in the Summer. My options are a C8 Daul Clutch, removalble hard roof or a nice C2 with a powerglide. I would like to hang in there with the Forum.....

I have learned and practiced driving left foot brake for the last 7 months. A few sessions at PittRace in my 2019 Tahoe . So a Corvette is still in my sights.....

Doug,
Thanks for sharing this, and glad to hear you weren't hurt in the accident. Best wishes with the repairs on your beast, and on the hunt for an automatic Corvette.

Hello Doug,
So glad to hear that you were not injured in the accident. Everything else is far less important. I am confident that your car will be repaired better than new for sure ( as we all know they weren't that great when new) and then you can focus on whatever automatic adventure you decide to take. Thanks for the update and the very best of luck going forward.

Jay

Driving to Erie on Tuesday to meet with a Gentleman who wants to meet with me and discuss my situation. If we can agree, I will ship my 67 BB to Harbor Vettes for a long awaited start to proper repairs.

Doug . . . how'd the meeting go today? Based on this, it looks like they do some exceptional work in Erie!

Trailing the 67 Monday to Erie......... Met with the employees today. Looks extremely encouraging. All are "ingaged" in thier work.......The process will be slow but, I believe steady.......

Oh! that 63 Corvette was to be a Harbor Vettes Statement! And I think they nailed it!!

Thanks much, Tom!
