Haters gonna hate. It’s been this way on this forum with the same 10 guys since I’ve been on it. Both cars are incredible works of art, as are several other of the builders cars

I'm a neither also.
I've never loved restos.
The craftsmanship, engineering and artistic skill cannot be denied and I respect, appreciate and VERY MUCH envy the skill and results.
They are truly works of art.
But to me the differences between the restomods are just the skin. A Chevy, Buick, Ford or whatever can all have the same guts.
I get liking them, someone who always wanted a C2 but wants the comfort and upgrades of a modern car usually with tons more hp.
And when I see them I'm "wowed" and love checking them out so I'm not sure that I, or we, should be called haters.
I just prefer the original.

IMCO neither is not a hater by any means. I as most others that responded "neither" stated the admiration for both the Corvettes, craftsmanship, and builders. I personally enjoy viewing any well done vehicle regardless if it's something I would own, could afford, or is my desire or taste. A well built Corvette is just that. Well built. I have nothing but respect (OK maybe a bit of envy too ) for those who display that talent and skill level.

If we are going to deviate, I would say we should considering comparing Kindig's C2s with the Jeff Hayes car....Kindig wins. It's not for everyone but the exhaust through the bumpers is "trick".

It's NOT a "FAD"......It's only a short matter of time before the next generation of Resto-Mods will be dropping in " TESLA ELECTRIC MOTORS " in our C1-C2 Corvettes. The prices of ot theses new Resto-Mods will hit the Strato-Sphere. Way out of my price range, but not for many of our members.

There’s already an electric motor conversion kit available for C2 Corvettes with various horsepower selections.
I like them all. NCRS, Resto Mods, street drivers, all of em’.

I like both resto-mods, but I fit in a C2 much better, and I like resto-mods way more than factory original cars. Not that a factory C2 isnt cool, but I'm not the nostalgic type... I look at it just like anything else, if it can be improved, Id like it improved. Just like the home was home improved when they went from a well & an outhouse, to modern plumbing, why wouldnt you want it?
To bring such iconic styling up to the latest cutting-edge engine, suspension, & braking technology is a whole new level of bad ***. If it wasnt a such a long wait for a new frame when I called SRIII I would have ordered that frame when I did my frame off.

I appreciate those kinds of cars up to a point, but ultimately that amount of work and expense means the cars are taken off the road for all time.

Certainly not in the case of Kindig, but I think it sucks real Corvette bodies are being cut up to create the flavor of the month. Oh yea, a mid-year Corvette with a straight rear axle? Big negative on that.

I find these cars interesting and I admire the talent that it took to design and then build them. To me it is just a matter of personal preference, just like other art forms. My biggest problem with most of these cars is the wheels. Giant rims with rubber band tires are all the rage, but I don't think that they go well with the original design of either car. Again, it is just personal preference and I am obviously far outnumbered by folks who love them. If having my own opinion makes me a hater, that is OK with me.

One thing has definitely changed. Modifiers of old changed the bodies usually with bad results, thus it became common (mandatory) to reverse those changes later on. Modifiers now change everything except the bodies, the original design gets the respect it deserves. I much prefer the modern take if I had to choose. These new builders aren't shy about it anymore either, nice originals are being cut up as apposed to the old days when guys made it a point to indicate their starting point was usually a clapped out basket case. I have my hands full enough with my own projects to care that much either way but I will say I always thought the numbers matching thing is difficult to get excited about.

The Carbon Fiber Body is made from scratch, using their own molds.
To the best of my knowledge, there are no original Corvette parts in their build.
The Windshield Frame is a work of art!

I don't like restomods at all, that's just personal. Everyone is entitled to their preferences.
I am only replying because the first post used the term, "Traditional Restomod". Apparently we've been restomodding cars so long there is a use-case for the word "traditional"!
I'll keep mine original with patina, please.

I drive an Unrestored '63 with all original paint, so I get the "patina" thing.
I may have failed to make my point in the initial post.
I was trying to compare the two completely different approaches to building a car.
One build used a 1967 donor car, so I used the word Traditional.
The other car was completely fabricated from scratch, so I called it a Hand Built Custom.
