Default Lock cylinder rod lengths

does anyone know about or have original 63 lock cylinder rods handy ? I recently got a RH side reproduction from Corvette Central and it is longer than the driver side .

end to end on drivers side is 4-1/16"
end to end on pass side is 4-5/8 (repro shiny one )

is the repro the right length ? I don't know why they would be different lengths.

Michael,

This may not be too helpful, because mine are already assembled in the doors of my '63. But nothing else has been assembled yet and so, I can clearly see these rods. They measure the same length from the point where they are protruding out of the handle to the plate on the lock mechanism. This is also true when I press the button to open the door. The length of the rod between these two points is 2-3/4" when the button is pressed. It has been a while since I've installed these, but I don't remember them being of different lengths.

Gary
