Default Removing a scratch from windshield

Can a scratch be removed if you can feel it with your finger nail. It is a light scratch but can still feel it. I know wiper marks can be removed but not sure about a scratch.

I got some pretty deep scratches out of a side window back in the day on a Focus when somebody tried to break it out & failed. I started with 220 grit sandpaper & went progressively finer & finished off with a buffer & glass polish. You could not see the scratch but if you looked closely it was somewhat distorted.

You could also use a paste made of Bonami scouring powder and water. Bonami is the only scouring powder that will not scratch glass. Jerry

No.
If you can feel it, its too deep to come out without leaving evidence, usually distortion which might be acceptable on side or rear glass but not likely a windshield. Better to live with it.

Cerium oxide is a glass compound, back in the day we used to use a product called rodite if memory serves but there is glass compounds and special pads out there, be very careful in the process, keep the glass cool, it can shatter quite easy if not done properly with water, also can leave a little distortion in the glass, different glass on a car will react differently (windshield vs side glass)

If the crack is in direct line of sight, I would leave it alone because it will end up as a spot which will interfere more.
