Default Yogi Bair of Bair's Corvette has passed away

This was mentioned on the C3 General Forum, but I hadn't seen it here. Yogi died Monday 12/19, at the age of 82.

For those not familiar with Yogi, he was the founder of Bair's Corvette in Linesville PA. Bair's did some of the best Corvette restoration and repair work in the country, along with reproducing many high quality reproduction parts. Yogi himself, was quite knowledgeable about Corvettes and quite a character. He was well known in the hobby for his jokes and story telling. Yogi stepped away from the business about 15 or so years ago, turning it over to his son Brian. Brian sold the business to a couple Bair's long time employees, about two years ago.

Rest in Peace Yogi, I'm going to miss, and hearing your stories.

Sorry to hear that! I never met Yogi but met Brian a couple times when I went to pick stuff up. They were/are good people to deal with and my sympathy goes out to all the good folks there. RIP Yogi!

From the obit: "Yogi himself had more than 100 speeding tickets and was proud of it."

Very sad news. I had met Yogi about 15 yrs ago when doing my trailing arms. They are still a good company to do business with. Dennis

Truly sorry to hear this - One of the best, a real character, and a great businessman. I got to know Yogi and then Brian over the years since naively diving into learning all about these cars when I had a lot more enthusiasm than money. It took me 10 years to pull the trigger being young with a family. Yogi was a big part of "vetting" (pun intended) my car when I bought it in 05.

He will be missed!

My condolences to the family, he was a character for sure, I always enjoyed talking to him at Carlisle. Even after he had retired, you would still find him buying parts at the show.

Didn't know that. Wondered why I didn't see him at the Nostalgia race this fall. Tony was a good guy and had a very fast Pontiac.
I keep thinking I raced with Yogi at Nelson Ledges back in the 70's , but it could have been a sponsored car. SCCA BP Corvette.

2 Good Corvette guys that will be missed.

Default Yogi was a great Corvette guy and smart fair and helpful man!

I met Yogi 35 years ago when fixing my 64 rag top. I pulled the pumpkin and dropped it off with Yogi, they went through my pumpkin changing out the gears from 513-s to a better street gearing for the 396 that was in the car. They were very honest and helpful as I remember. I have re-opened the corvette book when I bought my 66 rag top back in 2020 and have bought lots of fix and restore parts from Bears since then and they have lots of good quality parts at fair prices and the more you buy the better they treat you! Mike the current owner is a great hands-on guy who knows his stuff and when I first met him, I found him working under a C2 on their lift! I had some questions about my project, he stopped what he was doing and gave me all his attention, he was so helpful.....little did I know he is the owner! I live a couple hours south of Bair's and go to get my parts in person when possible. My contact when I call is Jason and he is also very helpful and attentive to my needs who owns

his own C2. When I ship my orders, they arrive in one day most of the time! Bair's is a great small business that we all should support. thanks all, Big-K Ohio

I had Bair’s restore several components on my 66 back in the 90s when I figured the price of buying specialty tools for a one-time job didn’t make financial sense for me. Always got great service and advice from them. I don’t believe in all these years I’ve ever heard anyone complain in the least about their experience with Bair’s. I hope his business can still continue under a new generation. RIP Yogi.

Fortunately his legacy lives on at Bairs Corvettes. They still do fine restorations on components, the price are reasonable and the work first rate. Thank you Yogi and RIP.

Yogi and Brian were absolutely first-class guys.
Always loved Yogi stories that I repeated for months after I heard them. Will be missed by many that crossed his path.
