Re: C1 + C4 + ZR1 = .................... (Ih2lose)
Owned by a guy in Wichita with several cars. Not 100% but think that it is a Car Creations conversion. When I was taking the pics, another guy walked by and asked what magazine it was going into......The owner replied, "None, I built it to drive." :)
I wish I could have gotten more pics but he was late for a meeting. VERY!!! sweet car. I was going to park our 62 next to it for a comparison but didn't have time.

I'll preface this by saying I might be wrong. I believe I saw this car under construction at Alf Eboroth's (Sp?) shop in Sand City CA (Monterey). Alf works a great deal with Paul Newman (Car Creations) and has created the flared fenders (56-60 and 63-67) availible through CC. While I was at his shop he was working on several cars including a 62 Corvette with an LT4/6 speed that the owner insisted have 315 rear tires. Also a 66 Corvette with an LS1 / 6 speed that he designed stock appearing flares for the rear. He had just received (from Paul) a 67 Corvette owned by Dr. Long with an LT5 and would have 315 rear tires. Most of the corvettes these guys work on end up in the magazines and become quite recognizable due to their workmanship and quality. The 61-62 fender flares are most likely available through Car Creations (as is all of Alf's products).

SLO 65....You are most likely correct. If I remember correctly, the owner did say that the car was built in California. I was too busy drooling and he was late for a meeting so we really didn't get to talk much. I know that the car will probably be around this summer at car shows so I will attempt to get some details.
He did comment that it did run a drive just like a regular C4. :steering: :steering: :steering:

DaBo,
I guess it could be the same car although last night I remembered Alf telling me the car was going to be a 1996 Grand Sport Clone with the Admiral Blue paint, white stripe, and hash marks. Perhaps the owner had a change of heart now that the 96 GS is a bit dated. The Black / Black sure looks menacing. By the way, it has CA plates.
