Winter and mice
It's that time of year again (at least for me) to start thinking about winter and putting away our toys. In the past I used drier sheets and had signs of mice (acorns and mouse **** in the V of my Jaguar's V-12) but no damage. Last year I had my 62 vette back for the first time in years and I sprung for some 'Grandpa Gus' mouse repellent. I had 3 spots of chewed wires in the engine bay despite a couple of sachets in the bay. (Car is kept in a carport with cover at a summer cottage that is snowed in all winter.)
What do you use?

Leave the car uncovered. A cover just adds to the cozy ambience mice enjoy.
Open the hood and trunk (if a C1 or a Grand Sport). Closed areas represent security for rodents.
Drive your car often and park it in different locations. Mice don't like mobile homes.
If you must park your car, install a really obnoxious noise maker and a big dish of mothballs. Roll the windows up to trap the noise and the noxious chemicals.

I found great luck with the anti-rodent spray from Tomcat , it's called simply "rodent repellent"
Available at lowes for about $10 a can. Spray it on the floor around the inside perimeter of your garage, around your cars, and exterior wise, just in front of entry points.
Tomcat says spray it every month, I do it every 2 weeks. It has a nice cinnamon type smell and at least for me, it WORKS!!
I have a detached garage where I would get 3 or 4 mice in traps weekly, and with the spray I got none for 6 months...I had 4 baited traps around the Garage just to check effectiveness. I was pleasantly surprised.

Dryer sheets on the carpeting, fresh every year. I also store all my birdseed bags in the garage that I store the Corvettes in, I’ve never had a problem, with any damage, sure there’s a few sunflower seed husks here and there, but not a big deal (I think they’d rather eat the few stray-spilled bird food/seeds on the floor rather than eat wires, etc

If you're going to use moth ***** use something like this (old fashion as in naphthalene) as the new ones are very mild:

I put tinfoil on the ends of the tailpipes. Started doing that years ago after helping a friend start up his Model A one spring only to have corn shoot out the pipe.

I've stored mine in unheated garages; never in a carport like yours. For me, lots of traps around the tires helped, and around the walls of the unheated garage. Those bucket contraptions seem to work well too. Use antifreeze to keep the smell of the dead critters to a minimum while you're away.

They now advertise a bubble for outdoor use that MAY be the answer to your problem. https://carcapsule.com/7-outdoor-cap...il-sleet-snow/ There are others...Google is your friend.

What is an acceptable price range to guarantee no mice or condensation. Just bush hogged a field last nite beside where my Vette is stored. Field mice hopping all over the place. Some may think the Car Capsule is too pricey. Way cheaper than electrical repairs. There is a recent thread on this topic.
