I have an epoxy garage floor with aggregate for more bite and an Advantage lift. But, I noticed the lift can slide a little when driving on it, so I bought some of the horse stall rubber pads (1/4") from Tractor Supply and cut them down. Now, no slide.

My garage floor slopes out enough that about every 5 years I have to scoot my four post back up into the garage. So some thick rubber mats sounds like a good idea to me. And yes, working under a 4 post is a PITA but it's all I have the ceiling room for. I have nicknamed my four post the "death bed" as the car on top seems to never come down and is dead to me for many months at a time. With a larger shop someday it will not be invited to live with us any longer

With bridge jacks, wood blocks, etc. you can get most any work done on a 4 poster.
And the 4 posters help you stuff more cars in the same space! :-))

I've gone back/forth on that question, but found I prefer a 4 post. I like the stability of the 4 post lifts, being able to use them to stack cars, and I've found I can do any work I want on a 4 post lift - bridge jacks, etc. do the trick. Best, Paul

I just use the Bend Pak for storage, and use my BYB for the big jobs.

It's a no-brainer. 4 post with the pneumatic bridge jack.

Thanks for all the feedback.
I asked the question because I notice others had pads under the lift bases and thought it was a good idea.
When moving my lift I noticed the column bases have made some rust spots on my garage floor.

Best of all options IMHO. 2 car storage, stability of 4 posts, portable with cantilever wheel attachments, full access to car interior and I can lift up the front.....back or both ends simultaneously with the air operated hydraulic rolling lifts. So far it has exceeded my expectations, which says something in today's world.

Says "Advantage" on the sticker.
I did a lot of research before I bought two Bend-Pack HD9W. What I found is that most are made in China and most are pretty much equivalent. You choose your height, width, capacity and lock type (air or mechanical). Most cost roughly the same,. I bought mine for $2,800 each. They are now well over $3,000. Bend Pack has a good reputation for service. I had one cylinder seep a bit and they fixed it free. Enough folks in my orbit have them that it felt OK to choose it over BYB or any of the other 10 makers. 6 years later and they are fine.
By a lift from a distributor close by over the brand.

Well, I went for safety and build. Advantage is designed and over built in the USA by a steel company in Ohio or PA. Quite happy with the quality of everything and the dealer delivered it and set it up for me.

Folks,
I wanted to resurrect this thread because I have a related question. Someone on this thread mentioned that they had a bridge jack that uses and air bag (or two) as the jacking part....anyone know where I can buy one of those?
Thanks. Johnny

I have a Hd9 standard and a Hd9xw and I don’t know what the advantage would be. I often make slight adjustments with the dollys so in the 12 years I’ve had it no problems
