Default right side spot mirror

A spot mirror of sorts intended as a fun experiment:

The idea is to cover the right side sometimes hard to see blind spot area.
A 2 inch mirror attaches to the vent window frame held in place via a thin sheet metal metal bracket that wraps around the frame.

At freeway speed wind turbulence and body vibration shook the mirror image quite a lot. An intermediate piece was added to stiffen up the bracket.

This additional metal support piece stiffened the bracket and helped better stabilize mirror image shake.

A 3 inch mirror was also tried out. At freeway speed over 70 the larger mirror didn’t take the air load as well as the 2 inch mirror and tended to turn inward.

A couple of drops of super glue was was added to the ball ends the mini bracket supports. Tomorrow’s cruise will see if the 3 inch mirror will stay in place at 70.

You have a very beautiful car. I can appreciate your attempt and this is just one persons opinion but that mirror looks out of place and detracts from the cars beauty.

I realize this is a snide comment, but so does scraping the rear quarter when you move over on someone else.
A coupe is especially difficult to see anyone off that corner.

I have a 5 panel "wink" mirror in the race car and it works very well but not too handsome for a street car. Have you considered an inside panoramic mirror?

An honest opinion is hardly a "snide" comment. I made sure to compliment the mans beautiful car and then talked about the mirror he attached to it.
Honestly, maybe you should MYOB as my post was not directed to you and if he felt I was out of place I would accept him saying so.

The snide comment was about my own reply, not yours. My apologies that it wasn't clear in how I phrased it.

I achieved almost perfect visibility on my SWC with a license plate mounted camera with Bluetooth. With the flip of a switch I can see the rear and the blind spots on both sides. Has a fish eye license which keeps cars from sneaking up from behind, especially on the right side.

I like wink mirrors also. No one can sneak up on your right side. If you have any kind of peripheral vision, you can see a car beside you long before it's out of view via the last wink segment.

Here is the one in my Grand Sport:

Your license plate frame camera doesn't RECORD, by any chance- does it? I've been looking high and low but cannot locate one. I'm beginning to think they don't exist.

Why do you want it to record? No it doesn't but mirrors don't record either.

I should have made my intention clearer.

I'm looking for dash cam function for a car that has no rear view area to mount a dash cam. The area where license plate frame cameras are mounted, which are added when a car is not equipped with a back-up camera, would be my only option.
