Hemi/Vette update
Well last week I added that clear protective sheeting to the front. A black car doesn't like bugs or rocks so this should help. Now tomorrow I'm having the rear updated to a 3.7:1 from the 3.2:1.

In the shop this morning. Should be done this afternoon. Ok here's the engine. Then a 5spd TEMEC and a Chrysler 8.74" rear (now getting the 3.7:1 ring and pinion) with 4 link suspension and coil over shocks.

Got her back from the shop yesterday. Now I have to figure out how to correct the speedometer. Looks like it's about 8 mph fast?????

Replacement gear for the speedo drive on the way from TREMEC. Ahhh do I love to drive this old girl with the top down and that old Hemi rumbling along.

I am sure you have posted the specs on your Hemi before, but for those of us who missed it, could you repeat please? thank you.
Edit- in looking at the pictures of your car I can see a 392 badge like comes on the new Charger/Challengers. Cool... What mods have been done to it?

I put the 392 on the hood as a tribute to this installation. When I go to a car show I like to leave the hood down until I get questions like: "isn't that supposed to be 396? Is it a 383?". Then I pop the hood and the jaws drop, ha ha.
I haven't done much to the engine just rebuilt both Carter AFB's, replaced the twin point distributor with Pertronics. replaced the old Chrysler transmission with a TREMEC 5spd, replaced the leaf spring in the rear with 4 link suspension and coil over dual adjustable shocks. Since 65 was the first year of 4 wheel disc brakes I took the drums off the Chrysler solid axle and added aftermarket discs. Lastly I added a small rear spoiler in memory of my old 65 Vette I had 50 years ago.

Well the first replacement gear I got from TREMEC for the speedo drive was wrong. Only changed the speed by about 5 mph. Still 5mph slow so another gear is on the way, that should correct the speedometer back to the actual speed, according to my GPS. Can't remember what I used to do back in the days before GPS. I do remember once I was at the airport (where I worked) and a friendly cop parked on the taxiway and I ran straight at him and his radar. Really accomplished two things. Got my actual speed and found out how close I was before that fiberglass car tripped the radar.

If I still remember correctly I used to run 60 mph as close as I could hold it down the interstate in KS and clock off my time for 3 miles on the mile markers. Take the total seconds I clocked off by watch, divide by 3 in my head, divide that by 60 in my head and multiply by 60 mph in my head = corrected mph
2 minutes 49 sec to go 3 miles / 3 = 57 sec/mile
60/57 = 1.055 factor
1.055 x 60 indicated mph = 63.3 actual mph
i was a lot better figuring in my head back in my college days in the slide rule era than I am now.

Art Work!
That's so pretty it would look great sitting in the living room. Hey why not? I've seen rich guys parking classic motorcycyles ( Knuckle Heads or Brough Superiors for example) in their living rooms, because they consider them art work. I don't consider that motor anything less. You are truly blessed Sir.
