Front end swap advice / help
I have a 1960 corvette with stock front end and have a complete rebuilt front end with disc brakes as a whole unit. I would like to swap mine out for the rebuilt one with discs, new springs, controls arms, etc. I know it’s a bolt up unit, but have been told I may have challenges with removing it because frame rails may pitch together and / or front end of car May dip in the process messing up the door gaps and stuff.
do you guys agree with that info or do you think with the engine still in the car, it would keep the frame rigid and not affect the fiberglass body?

What you want to do should not be a big issue. Get yourself a big tapered drift , you may need to pull some of the bolt holes back into line. I predict the hardest part will be getting the old bolts out. That part can be a real bear. Don't know how the engine will affect the process. I think if anything it will want to spread the frame , but might not. If it does just jack up the engine and take the pressure off. Have fun !

Its not hard.
BUT make sure you support the front body of the car at the radiator support as well as the frame .
The 16 bolts can be a bitch, I almost broke my nose when a wrench with cheater bar slipped off a bolt head.
Get new tapered shims, some people like me, put in twp per side to get caster where it belongs. Your existing alignments measurements will tell you if that is needed.

I just finished (waiting for the truck to pick it up) a TOTAL rebuild of a complete frontend for a gentleman in NY. The A-frames and springs were in good condition, so I only replaced the shafts, bushings, seals, kingpins/bushings.
Degreased, acid dipped, power washed, blasted, painted, assembled.
