Thanks everyone for your kind words and prayers. I got past Covid .......................... felt pretty bad, like a really bad flu for 3 or 4 days. Thankfully my wife did not contract it. She is in the late stage of dementia and has trouble swallowing which accounts for her extreme weight loss over the past few months. I hope we can make it to Nov. 16 so we can celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary............................. .... a goal of ours from the day we married in 1972. Please keep her in your prayers.
Thanks,
Rex

The L88 Tribute is perfect. If you sell I hope you get an extreme amount for that car, it is worth it.
I hope you get clear of COVID and I will warn others to not take it lightly. I lost my 71 year old brother last week to COVID. He had all 4 shots, went to a golf tournament with friends on Saturday and Sunday came home Monday not feeling well, entered the hospital on Wednesday and passed on Friday. He spent one night with his wife, Sunday night, she was ill by Tuesday also. In her case it was just a 5 day illness. Like you Rex I had it a month ago, sick 4 or 5 days and recovery started but a month later still feel low on energy. This illness is not fair or equal to everyone. Some react very poorly to it while others have almost zero symptoms. You never know.
I hope your back is healing and your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I am "considering" parting with my 67 L-88 tribute car and am curious what you guys think would be a fair value. I have owned the car since 2006. It is a no hit California car, sold new by Harry Mann Chevrolet......................all matching number L-79, 4 speed, PS, PB, PW, Am-FM radio. tinted glass. Original trim and VIN tags, the car was originally Marlboro maroon but the color was changed to black when it received a nice frame on restoration in 2002-03. It is black with a silver stinger (I know this is not an original color combo). I drove and enjoyed the car for a couple years with the original drivetrain. In 2008 -09 I decided to use all the original L-88 parts I had been collecting since the mid 90s. I built it as a tribute to the fabulous L-88 Corvettes using real L-88 parts.........................hood, J-56 brakes, NOS no radio dash, Long Island heater delete plates, M-22 transmission, road draft tube, and a real, functional 36 gallon tank. I also added a set of my reproduction Bill Thomas L-88 headers and side pipes along with a set of 15x6 magnesium Torque Thrust D wheels by American Racing and repro Firestone Indy tires by Coker. And last but certainly not least......................... I found a REAL 67 L-88 block, probably an over the counter block (stamped IT with a June 6, 1967 assembly date. I built it using the correct 392 aluminum heads, L-88 internals and a healthy hydraulic roller cam and a REAL 67 L-88 carb.
At the risk of sounding boastful (and I DON'T mean to), I think this car is one of the best 67 L-88 tribute cars in the country. It's as close to a real L-88 as you can get without spending 2 to 3 million dollars. When I built it I kept ALL the original parts I removed (original engine and transmission, original radiator and support, original dash with radio, original heater assembly, original hood, original gas tank) and they are included with the car.
Here are a few pics. I realize this car isn't for everyone and I respect that. Tell me what you think..............................
Thanks,
Rex

... it may not have left the factory as an L88, but it's as real an L88 as it ever gets
Great car Rex; Thoughts and Prayers go with you and your family

Thanks Jim. The flooding is about 2 hours east, southeast of us. We’ve had plenty of rain here but no damage. I wish you guys had some of this rain.
Hope you’re doing well. I think of you often. Take care my friend.

I'm relieved to learn that you don't have to deal with flooding in addition to everything else, Rex. Very relieved,

Rex I'm thankful to hear you got through Covid. I know we're always thinking about you and what you and your wife are going through . While geographically we're all not available to be there for you emotionally we're here to support you anyway we can. When time permits we look forward to your posts. God speed friend.

Glad to hear you weren't dealing with the flood waters Rex. I was wondering about you and the flood. Take your 67 out for a ride soon. It should brighten your day !! --------- Ken

Awesome car, and you're obviously quite loved by this community. I've never chatted with you personally, but that doesn't matter at all. I'll certainly add you and your sweet bride to my prayer list; I well-understand the tough times of life!

If there is a thread on this forum that exemplifies everything that is "right" with the contributors here this has to be considered.
Positive karma to all!

While looking thru some old threads tonight I ran across this one and read everyone’s comments again. I must say I truly am fortunate to have owned some decent old cars over the past 55+ years, with this one being my favorite of all. Favorite not only because it’s a pretty cool hot rod (yeah, I’m a little biased), but more importantly because it’s the last car my wife, Linda accompanied me when we bought it. When she first saw it, she immediately said “we’re buying this car” ❤️. She even helped with the driving chores towing the car on our newly purchased trailer from Louisiana back to Kentucky. I sure miss her. 😢
I’ll close by saying I’m truly blessed to have so many friends here on the forum, most of whom I’ve never met personally, but I hope we can remedy that someday.
