These prices are crazy! My collection literally doubled in value! I guess that’s a good thing! 🤷♂️🥃🥃

Yeah, It was amazing and touching watching that original owner letting his SWC (fuelie right?) go for $300k! Even at 300k owning from the showroom as a young man…… seeing it go. SWCs are bringing huge numbers but they look pristine.

The fuss is about the astronomical prices and the aggressive bidding.

From what I have seen so far, the prices are high but not as high as the last Mecum auction a few weeks ago. There were a few cases where the BJ folks were obviously upset that a car was not bringing the bids that they expected, so they spent a lot of time trying to hype the car. All in all, prices are off the chart, and the really good cars are bringing the big money. For more normal cars, it looks to me like Mecum has taken over as the prime auction company.

I don't know about you guys, but if I saw one more "Bronco Custom", I was gonna upchuck.....the modifieds were really thick this year, getting lots less interesting IMO.

I agree with your obsveration.
Yesterday they mentioned on TV there was no reserve!
I thought a while back BJ was going to have reserve prices.

30K for a Sign! It's definitely not an investment.......Just a Classic Car Warehouse ornament, I guess!

Yeah, well, I would not put to much stock in those prices for evaluating your collection.
I attended BJ from 1982-2016. Often times with a motor home on site and a group of friends that we all had bidders numbers and stayed the entire week. I finally tired of the “circus atmosphere” and haven’t been back since.
There is always s a frenzy about values of these cars during and shortly after the auction but it dies out and will get back to normal soon.
You can’t gauge prices on it because of the alcohol and ego driven bidding there.

All prices were "over the top". I am sure the Jeff Hayes Restomod convertable at $715k was some sort of a record.
