Default Ignition Shielding on a GM HEI Distributor

With a little massaging I managed to fit the stock top ignition shielding over a late model GM large body HEI distributor in my '61. No original parts were damaged in this mod. All it took was: 1. A small crescent shaped notch in the lip of the air cleaner. 2. Enlarging the notch that the throttle linkage goes through on the front of the shield. 3. Pulling the front and the rear of the shield out to allow the clearance for the shield to fit down tight to the top of the distributor.

The small cap distributors are EST distributors, and do not have internal timing controls for use with a carburetor.
