[C2] Windshield wiper adjustment

Windshield wiper adjustment
On my "64 convertible the wipers go past the A pillar almost to the wing window when you are driving the car in the rain. They seem to work properly in the garage and dry. I am going to restore the stainless windshield trim this winter and don't want the trim all scuffed up again. The wipers are oriented properly when parked. Is there an adjustment for this problem or is something worn beyond tolerances? thanks guys.

I would take both wipers off, then turn wipers on and let park. place drivers side on an inch or less, then turn on the wipers again and see if it goes too far and comes back to park position. Do both sides this way with passenger side about an inch above the drivers side. Then re-evaluate.

Correct Wiper Arm Adjustment Specifications
Here's the correct wiper adjustment specifications when parked as per the AIM.
In the middle of the driver's side blade, it should be 1/2"-5/8" above the bottom chrome trim. The middle of the passenger side blade should be 3/4"- 1" above the drivers blade.
To adjust the blades parallel...
...use the blade...
...adjustment screw. You might find that helpful. Good luck.
