OT - '62 Nova
Hi Guys! A good buddy and co-worker (Tim) just picked up this beauty from his uncle! It's a mostly original '62 Nova . . . 22,800 miles with original paint and interior. His uncle pulled the original 6 and auto a few years ago and installed a "period correct" 327 and 4 speed . . . and, I'm told it sounds awesome with the lumpy cam! Tim plans to keep it mostly as is, but wants to upgrade to a dual master cylinder and front disc brakes. So - the question for you guys is . . . what's the easiest/most cost-effect way to do this? Are there any "kits" that will work? Any - and - all responses are greatly appreciated!
Happy Holidays!

Plenty of kits out there. Just do a web search. Make a decision as part of the 'kit' to include a duel master cylinder, or do that separate from 'the disk kit'. As a side note, I put a duel mast cyl in my 65 GTO many years ago still have the GTO). I left the car all drums. The upgrade not just in safety, but in pedal feel and stopping was huge. I don't drive it super hard.. but I do take it to the drags once in a while (me any my brothers race each other in our respective cars), but honestly.. I am happy with the duel mast and retain all drums set up. Not sure you need the disks... just my 2 cents to pass along.

Any one of the above mentioned vehicles has a the ability to embarrass you at a stop light if you mistakenly take them at face value, that is exactly what I love about Sleepers. They will had you your *** and your left wondering how the hell did that happen.

Chevy II's Rule........
Here's my little sleeper, a '66 Chevy II, Series 100, 2 door post car...
...with a basic stock L79 in a car that with me in it weights 3,062 lbs. Hemi guys really don't like getting beat by a Chevy II, they really don't!

I was in High School from 72 to 75, the fastest car around back then was a 62 Nova, had a 301 small block ( 283 bored out ), big cam, headers, 4 speed and 4.56 rear axle. No body touched him from takeoff to about 110 mph when he was winding past 6,500 RPM . A 69 Chevelle SS396 375 HP 4.11 4 speed lost. Another guy had a Super Bee 440 that was really fast. He lost. A 66 SS Chevelle with a 327 that was built, 4 speed known to be a very quick car was not even close. That combo of a high winding small block in a very light car was hard to beat. Your 62 is a very special car to have. This was my local high school, I know some of you guys played in the heavyweight leagues. We were small time but that Nova had respect back then.
