Last Big Show Of The Season For My Silver Bullet
I just did the Good Guys Show in Pleasanton, CA. I inadvertantly wound up in the Corvette Corral. The Corvette Corral was mostly late model 'Vettes. Looked more like a dealership than a car show. I guess new Corvette owners need to show off their C8's, etc, but I don't know if they belong in a classic car show. They didn't get much public attention as people walked by them to the earlier models including mine. The weather and the attendance were fair.

LOL! Good eye. A guy on another forum also caught it. It was my bad. It's a detachable side mirror sold as an accessory for 40's and 50's cars. Having a stiff neck it helps me when backing up or on the high. Easy to install and remove. I added a 4" convex lens that gives me great rear view on passenger side.

The wheels and tires are 15 X 8.5 front and back with 1.25" offset rear and 0.5" offset front. It does give it beefier appearance and gets more positive comments on the street than when I'm using the skinny whitewalls with hubcaps.
These wide tires are English Avons and great traction tires for the rear as they're very soft. Unfortunately they have a bias ply tread on them and are more difficult to steer. I'm going to keep the rear 8.5's, but I'm going to look for a good high rated 15 X 7.5" radial for the front...any recommendations? I use Nitto Tires on my other cars, but they are low profile. I wonder if they make a full size tire to match the appearance of the Avons in the back?

Great classic looking "day 2" car. and looks super with hubcaps too. I never realized how much the offset affected the depth of the wheel. The rears have that classic deep spoke look, while the front spokes are shallower and look more conventional and both are the same width......OS really affects the look. Are you running 4 or 5 leaf rear springs?

I'm not surprised there were so many late model Corvettes nor am I surprised they didn't get much attention. It's not what people expect to see at a Goodguys event.
Your '62 looks great in "day 2" trim.

That Goodguys event is called a "Get Together" and is open to "American Made or Powered Rods, Customs, Classics, Muscle Cars and Trucks of all years".

As for the term "day 2" I assumed that was what they meant. I am more familiar with "Old School" and even "Cherry" when referring to a car close to being period correct.

Yah Know, I would love to fit one of those sweet Side Mirrors on my 67 Coupe... I will not put a passenger side mirror on the 67, BUT I really would like to have one for backing into the garage....and driving on the road!!!
